Hi.

So husband filed a week ago. We just got the notice yesterday saying that they will send the I797 in the mail. My question is he got a receipt number starting with LIN can I use this number to track the case or is there another number I should wait on.

I tried it and the uscis website and it says invalid please help.

Nope that's your USCIS receipt number. Be sure to create an account and sign up for email and text on uscis.gov site.

Says invalid because its probably not all the way updated. But go and sign up and create your account. Or you will not get any further notifications.

You mean the official NOA1 letter usually comes within 14 to 30 days. Not needed. But put away.

I think it took a couple of days until the number showed up in the general lookup, but it took about a week before I could log in and see it there, and add another email address for notification.

Hi.

I got approved the first week of February. Thank you guys someuch for helping me out. Now that I am at the nvc stage, this is my question. I live in another country but I am originally from Jamaica. I haven't been to Jamaica in 3 years where do I get my police record from? Do I need it from both countries or just the one I'm living right now?

Yes you need where you are and Jamaica and any other country you have lived in 1 year or more since you were 16 years old.

I believe Jamaica sends the police report directly to embassy. Here go to the reciprocity and look up the countries you need police certificate for.

Hi.

So they post on the uscis site that my fon was shipped to department of state. Now who receive the documents that we should fill out next. And also I am under the impression that everything will be done by email. I'd this true ?

Thanks guys. This nvc seem's so complicated to me. My husband got the Leger the other day. This is my question I airing on my passport to come back, so in the mean time I want to the items together. I have Id number and all so should I start the process or should I wait for my passport and police record first?

Note: I'm in another country so the police record from my home country is gonna take 2 weeks and my passport is one month.

Another question. Where do I send everything. I know I should send only copies but where should I send is it all online the firm my husband showed me didn't say anything
