Update!!! USCIS interviewer phoned today to request documentation of the 2nd name change, which he had actually planned to put into the N-14 but didn't. Rushed over to USCIS office and personally handed the interviewer that documentation, and he then APPROVED the N-400 on the spot!

Whew! It's finally done! DH had his oath ceremony on Thursday in Buffalo, NY (59 people from 28 countries).

We were told by the USCIS officer at the ceremony that Buffalo and Detroit are the only two offices that allow walk-in same-day passport service and they provided passport photos after the ceremony free of charge. If you want to go straight from the ceremony to the passport office, bring your personal checks or a money order for the correct fees, including the same-day service fee if desired.

I don't know if this is the case everywhere, but in Buffalo the Courthouse security signs say absolutely no recording equipment or cameras and all cell phones must be checked in at the security desk. However, they DO allow photos to be taken at oath ceremonies during the proceedings and very much encourage family / friends to come up and take photos as you receive the certificate from the Judge. So if you want to take photos, DO take an ACTUAL camera with you.

I did my interview on May 10th and passed. I applied thru marriage but was not asked anything regarding any documents, not even taxes. She was very friendly (not so much at the beginning). I answered the first 6 questions correctly and we went over the application and noted any changes from the filling date (additional travel, name change, address change). Then I signed the application and the picture and that was it. Overall it took around 30 minutes but because i had a question about a name change and she had to go ask someone else.

Last week my status from my application was changed to "Will schedule interview" and so far I am still waiting. I am really hoping to get into the June ceremony =]

I will let you know of any updates.

Really no idea. After wife initial interview, she got the letter stating the officer could not determine her eligibility and she might get letter in the mail asking for more info. She got the letter and responded before due date. Now after waiting almost 3 months she gets the denied msg. Now just waiting for the letter in the mail to see the reason for it.

It seems the officer asked for everything that we had submitted before plus more proof of our marriage. Also wanted last 3 years of tax script for my wife. My wife landed in here at the end of 2011 and did not start work until 2013. She told the officer about that too but again in the letter she asked for the same, I am not sure why. Besides that, our bank and credit card statements for the past 3 years and any other document showing our names with the same mailing address. I also got 3 of my close friends to write an affidavit knowing us and our marriage. Also sent more pictures of us just together and some with family. We were so sure we have sent all the required documents, but I guess you can never tell until you hear from them.

This sounds very similar to what happened to me, though my officer gave me the letter and deadline at the interview. I sent everything in within a week and haven't heard a peep since - more than three months ago now. I'm so sorry they denied you, hopefully there will be some way for you to appeal. Do let us know what the letter says when it comes. I may be following you down that path before long...
