I spoke to the tier 2 officer and she said that they are still processing July for San Jose even though I applied at Phoenix.

Furthermore she added that they have not touched my application.

I am not sure what to make out of it. Any suggestions. I am reluctant to contact second time as I am not sure how it will impact my case.

Contacting them again won't hurt your case, but may not be of any use.

The location you sent the application to in Phoenix is just a receiving facility. Your application was then sent to Missouri for initial processing and when that's done, it'll be sent to San Jose (your local office).

You'll need to look though the tables for the past few months (go back to January 2015 and check every month). This'll give you an idea of how fast San Jose applicants are processed. You've been waiting 4.5 months. If you find that most San Jose applicants are interviewed 6 months after applying, then you'll know there's nothing wrong. There are other steps you can take when your case goes beyond normal processing times, but in my opinion, it's too early for that. The process takes most people 5-8 months, although there are people who finish in 3 or 4 and others who finish in 11 or 12.

That is a little unusual. My wife is San Jose and "She_him" is San Jose. We are both October filers. Both have completed their interviews. "She_him" knows her date of Oath and my wife has been scheduled for her oath. We are waiting for the letter with the date and location.

I do not want to panic you but there might be something in your application that will require additional processing time.

If you live in Milpitas which is The Bay Area (I live in Bay Area as well). Your local USCIS office is San Jose, CA.

Have you received any In Line emails from USCIS/DHS?

I did not receive any updates after fingerprinting.

Even when I did finger printing, I did not get mobile and email alerts. USCIS site still show "they have received my application"

Thanks, I analyzed the applications in San jose, CA. There is not much data for me to analyze either way.

Why things are getting slower in feild offices ? any idea about Holtsville ny office ? I wish they hire more people to run these offices .

You're stuck in background check.

It happens to a few applicants every month... just look at me in December :-)

When your background check is done you'll be placed inline and then have your interview scheduled. But it's best to keep prodding them every few months.

I filed in October in Fargo, ND (Phoenix lockbox) under the three-year rule based on marriage--I got my receipt notice at the end of October, my biometrics appointment was assigned for the end of November, and everything was going relatively quickly (for USCIS).

Then, following biometrics in November, I had to wait until the end of January before my interview was scheduled, and the interview was scheduled for March 3. At the interview itself, I did pass without any issue, but then I was told that it would be ''At least 2-3 months'' before the oath ceremony, and that there were a lot of people in front of me who needed to be scheduled.

I was also told that everything in Fargo--probably in all of ND, SD, MN, and parts of WI also--is handled in the Saint Paul field office, and that they would be sending my file back there again for scheduling.

It seems difficult to find current information about anything happening in North Dakota regarding oath ceremonies. There is a schedule for the ceremonies in Minnesota available online, but no one seems to know if this is relevant to North Dakota or not. The last ND ceremony I could discover was in September 2015. I don't even know if I will have the oath ceremony in ND or in MN.

The lack of information regarding the scheduling process and what to expect is very frustrating; it shouldn't be necessary to plan your entire life around a tentative date for months on end, only to find out that you will be waiting longer, and longer, and longer... :clock:

Naturalization ceremonies are the responsibility of the federal courts. These ceremonies are called judicial ceremonies. In some (most districts) the courts have allowed USCIS to conduct some (or all) ceremonies on their behalf. These are called administrative ceremonies. If you can't dint information on administrative ceremonies from USCIS, you may try to contact the federal district court in ND to see if you can find how often they conduct judicial ceremonies. It's not a guarantee of when your ceremony will be, but it might be an indication. If you find out that they hold one ceremony a year and it's in September, then you'll know that unless you end up with an administrative ceremony, you'll have a long wait. If you find out that they hold one per month, then it may not take long. This isn't very detailed info, but I hope it helps.
