I have not seen too much conversation about this in this thread, but what are the suggestions for those who have to travel to a different country for their interview?

What is the suggested timeframe for those who have to travel to the country where their consulate interview is; how many days in advanced?

Also, what is the suggested timeframe to book the flight?

I personally would like to book my husband's flight as early as possible, although I have seen "don't book it until you are approved at interview"

But what have you done?

Well no one can tell you time frame for travel from one country to next. All I can tell you is you need to be in the queue first thing. I tell everyone for Lagos be there no later that 5am to 6am.The queue usually is full up about 4am. Check with your countries forum and see what people say in the interview reviews.

As far as booking flights NO ONE should be buying a ticket until you have Visa in your hand. So that's an easy one. I sure would not be booking anything. I know people approved since August and still waiting for delivery of passport and thats many embassies. Yet others get in a week. Just wait until you get Visa.

Wow what's going on in with Jamaica embassy, I think i seen someone on the spread sheet from July still waiting and all of Aug, are they really that far behind,

I was thinking they were just not conducting any interview but it appears someone got one. Seems they are barely doing any interviews, maybe there is a quota they can't exceed a year.

I am not convinced the Embassy is as busy as they claim to me.

Bad mine get the best a them.

I think I'm the only Brit that still hasn't got an interview date on the spreadsheet. My CC was officially 18th Sept. Everyone on this thread with CCs after mine have been scheduled. It's been stressing me out. Has anybody got any suggestions?

Hi BRlove,

I called NVC on Oct 19th, they gave me the good news that my case was completed on October 16th. (I was like ok Great!, i don't have to bother with writing emails to senators etc)

So, I kept calling every day, and they confirmed 2 times that my case was indeed closed, just waiting for interview.

Today I call again, and this time the rep tells me that my case is NOT officially complete yet!

I called an hour later, this time another rep, she put me on hold for a few minutes. I don't know if she went to see a supervisor during this time, which I think took about 2-4 minutes, or just put me on hold to research what she sees in the computer.

It does kind of sound like, as you have been saying, they are delaying case complete officially because there is some problem of receiving the USCIS documents and scanning them into the system.

After the hold, she said that they have received everything something electronic (not from me) and they will be scheduling next. When I asked so when is the case complete, she said, as of today.

I believe the case worker has probably a couple of days to schedule my interview for December, if they don't, I'll be pushed into the next batch :(

No one knows what's going on but it's about a four month wait from CC to interview because they are "back logged".

But them can give interview date for visitors visa immediately.

Makes no sense they can give out visiting visa immediately, and you have to wait 4 months after cc to get a interview to be with your husband or wife, WOW

That sounds promising. It would be nice if they rounded up all the September case completes for December interviews.

Congrats!

Yes wait for the embassy to contact you with the p4 interview letter packet which will include medical instructions.

Or if you don't want to wait...check on the ceac.state.gov for updates from at nvc, in transit, to ready.

How long should you wait? depends on your embassy being able to find an interview slot for you.

Visitor visas do not require background checks r medicals. You are immigrating so more evidence and scrutiny is involved. That' why embassies the wold over ca conduct 300 to 500 interviews a day for visitor visas.

Jamaica is very backlogged and very busy,

So far Case compete 8/22 through 9/1 are getting dates. Lets hope they still have slots for December. Keeping hope alive. Only positive thoughts now.

For Jamaica they are further ahead then they have been in a year.

Any news about those from Egypt whom cases were completed on May?

I wonder whether they haven't had interview dates yet or that they are just not interested in updating their time line!!!
