I was of the understanding a person can schedule their medical appointment without proof of an interview, but that they must bring their interview letter to the appointment, and if they don't. they are turned away.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

depends on the country. Some like Philippines you don;t need an interview letter. Just your NOA2.

My medical is on the 20th Oct. No interview, so the medical form will be sent to the embassy and have no case to match up to.

And you are going to Knightsbridge Doctors in London is the sole contractor for Embassy medicals?

I´m very very concerned....

On June we have reserved a trip to Cozumel - Mexico (3 to 7 December) to celebrate our 1st year of marriage. We bought the tickets and reserved hotel, everything is already paid ! (And no refunds).

Mu husband will take the flight from LA and I will take mine from Lima, we will meet in Cancun and at the end each one will take a flight to go back to each country.

My interview will be November 25, so if we get the approval (crossing fingers), USA Embassy in my country will keep my passport, and it´s very possible they wont send it back before December 3 !!!

and of course I need it for travel to Cozumel

I dont know what to do !!!

I just visited the website you gave me and it shows "AT NVC", so they haven´t sent our case to my country yet

I don't see any issue. One your case probably won;t get shipped to your embassy until beginning of November ts fairly early to be sending now.

Are you trying to change the date?

As far as your passport. At interview tell the CO you need your passport and after your trip you will drop off to place the Visa. Not a big issue. Many people need their passports for traveling and bring in when embassy is ready.

Interview today @ 10. I was done at 12:30. I was approved.

After waiting for more than 5 months. I just received the interview letter for Nov 11.

at last got interview letter ( took 2 months for NVC to read my email for case update request from F2A to CR1 with naturalization) on October 14th, Interview scheduled on November 24th

Thank you Dwheels for all the info you shared with us. I had all my documents in order. They only asked for the originals and I had our updated I-864 with 2014 IRS tax transcript. The lady at window 2 was really happy how quick I was in giving her the documents she asked for. When I was called for the actual interview they didn't even asked evidence of on going relationship.

Go Checkout the spreadsheet. Vietnam is about 2 month wait after case complete to get a interview. So probably December you will get a January date.
