I'm a preschool and home school teacher, so I'm in the habit of explaining everything in this manner, even to adults :-P

i think the theory that you explained doesn't work that way. i just saw izabala nv, she send her case on august 25 2014, CC May 15th 2015, and she already has interview. I send my case on august 29th 2014, and CC august 28th 2015, still no interview. so in reality it's when the case is completed. Because even when i call to check for interview date, the rep right away says your case was just completed, you will have to wait little bit more.

Your interview is only a week away. What's the point in asking for an interview sooner than that?

I was thinking to do so as I have limited time left I the uk, my ticket has already been booked to Saudi Arabia... I guess that I wouldn't be requesting it after all

IR5 visa approved yesterday in Dominican Republic! I know most people here are IR1/CR1, but just in case there are any IR5s around here (and if these happen to apply to anyone in the IR1/CR1 category), here's the rundown:

  • Interview was very quick. They asked the petitioner's address, the petitioner's phone number, and if she'd ever traveled outside of the country before.
  • They requested her civil documents (birth certificate, police certificate, divorce certificate). She didn't have the original marriage certificate from her marriage with her ex (but did have the divorce certificate), and it was not a problem.
  • They didn't ask to see the new I-864 (she had it with her just in case).
  • We forgot to put her middle name in the first box of the DS-260 (but we did put it where it says to write out your full name in native alphabet)--it was not a problem.

So just in case you were concerned about any of those particular issues, there's our case!

IR-5

  • USCIS scan date - 11/07/2014
  • NVC scan date - 03/06/2015
  • NVC case complete - 08/01/2015
  • Interview scheduled - 09/14/2015
  • Interview - 10/08/2015

I posted this in another topic for Amman Spouses, but thought I'd try my chances here. Thank you everyone that takes the time to read my post.

Anyone know if the holder of a Palestinian Travel Document issued by the Syrian Ministry of Interior needs a visa to enter Jordan? My spouse has lived in Syria all her life, but nevertheless is considered a refugee from Palestine since 1948 (she was born in the 90s). Even though the US Embassy is liaising with Jordanian Authorities for Syrian Citizens to enter Jordan for those with immigrant visa interviews in Jordan, I still think my spouse will need to apply for a visitor visa to Jordan since she is neither Jordanian nor Syrian. Please, if anybody has had experience with this, let me know how it went for you. We're going to contact the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus and go from there, but any advice is much appreciated.

Well she would get before you because the Case Complete gets you in the queue. Because of the backlog they are shuffling. Her PD is before you and the case Complete. Because Egypt for over a year has been a 3 to 5 month wait it really is a Case Complete PD kind of thing.

Go to http://mexico.usvisa-info.com to schedule your Applicant Service Center (ASC). All applicants, regardless of age, are required to appear in person at the Applicant Service Center (ASC) prior to the consular appointment date. It is important that you access the website as soon as possible to schedule the ASC appointment. If you do not go to the ASC prior to your interview at the consular section, your case may experience significant processing delays.

Happy TGIF to all my fellow journeyers. God is sill in the business of answering prayers and wiping tears away. This morning I called NVC to check if an interview date has been set for my wife and as usual they told me that "sorry we do not have a date for you and we do not know when a date will become available" I hanged up the phone disappointed but still believing in GOD's miracles. Knowing that NVC will be closed on Monday because of Columbus day, I decided to call again this evening and I am happy to report that an interview date has been set for us. To God be the glory. For all those still waiting for NOA 2, CC or interview date, do not stop believing because Our God is a Good God and He is still in the business of answering prayers and wiping away tears. May God provide all the answers we all seek and may He perfect all that concern us. I pray that all those who are having their interviews this month will get approve.

First post - hello all *wave*

Hardly any news from NVC this week - what's going on?!

Here are my deets for the spreadsheet:

London

Priority Date: 23rd Feb 2015

Case Complete: 18th Sept 2015

Hoping for an interview in Nov.

Scheduled my medical for the 20th Oct.

Called NVC tonight, no news. Back to twiddling my thumbs.

Also, maybe anyone can advise on this. My husband and I have been married for less than 2 years, so we've been expecting the CR-1 visa all along, however when we got our CC the category officially stated is IR-1. Do I need to worry about this causing delays or might they have taken into account that we have a 22 month old? Or is it the same to them and they simply adjust it at the interview?

I managed to get a hold of the Jordanian embassy and they advised a visa will be needed prior to her arrival to Jordan. This is because she is Palestinian, not Syrian. So I guess I'll need to do an extra step but hopefully this'll be over in the next few months.

I am trying to figure that out too. Guess they are back to case reviews again. It likely is going to get worse until the beginning of the year. The disparity among the Embassy's is quite disheartening. I don't know where the backlog is coming from.

CallMeShame, Talk to someone last night at NVC she told me they waiting on Kingston embassy to give them permission to schedule some more interview dates, i told her i thought the embassy give out the dates she said no all the embassy do is send them a message of how many people they can schedule interview dates for and she said nvc schedule interviews according to cc dates
