CallMeShame, Talk to someone last night at NVC she told me they waiting on Kingston embassy to give them permission to schedule some more interview dates, i told her i thought the embassy give out the dates she said no all the embassy do is send them a message of how many people they can schedule interview dates for and she said nvc schedule interviews according to cc dates

Thank you for sharing that. I hope they do schedule some more. It would be good if they focus on immigrant visa at least for one month and finish off the year right.

I have a feeling with Columbus Day on Monday, there's going to be an explosion of interview dates on Tuesday. (HOPEFULLY)

So as of today my husband's case is in transit to the embassy.

I had an approved medical expedite.

My documents were submitted, all fees were submitted, and the DS 260 was completed too.

Praying for Dakar to move quickly!

Well she would get before you because the Case Complete gets you in the queue. Because of the backlog they are shuffling. Her PD is before you and the case Complete. Because Egypt for over a year has been a 3 to 5 month wait it really is a Case Complete PD kind of thing.

yeah thats what i thought as well. i even called NVC today and ask them how do they select a person for interview, by priority date or case complete date? she said by CC date. first come first served. therefore priority date is only good when in USCIS, otherwise is not important at all.

First post - hello all *wave*

Hardly any news from NVC this week - what's going on?!

Here are my deets for the spreadsheet:

London

Priority Date: 23rd Feb 2015

Case Complete: 18th Sept 2015

Hoping for an interview in Nov.

Scheduled my medical for the 20th Oct.

Called NVC tonight, no news. Back to twiddling my thumbs.

Also, maybe anyone can advise on this. My husband and I have been married for less than 2 years, so we've been expecting the CR-1 visa all along, however when we got our CC the category officially stated is IR-1. Do I need to worry about this causing delays or might they have taken into account that we have a 22 month old? Or is it the same to them and they simply adjust it at the interview?

t's an error just bring to the attention of the CO at interview so they can correct and the correct green card gets sent to you. Having a baby has nothing to do with it. NVC makes mistakes all the time no bg deal but it needs to be brought to their attention. If you were sent a 10 year green card you would have to send back.

Okay this is how its done. The embassy yes sends a calendar of dates with slots they have opened up for Categories NV has. Now its NVC's authority to start places cases in that slot. The embassy can notify NVC at any given time to stop start. No more. Remember there is scheduling at embassy too that's why some dates get overbooked and people cancelled or if they have to move over a different category to a date.

Case Complete yes gets you in the queue. And usually they have scheduled out to 3 months. They only announce next months dates.

If they have a whole lot of CC's in a given period say CC 9/1 through 9/20 your PD does play a big part and it should. They usually get the earlier in the month dates even though to our eyes there CC might have been weeks later. That's why I always say look at PD date before wondering why they got date. There's no favoritism, It is methodically placed and planned. And some embassies like yours are just very backlogged. I don;t know if its lack of staff or just that much overload in petitions filed.
