Looking for answers to some questions!

My boyfriend is a Permanent Resident (GreenCard holder) of the U.S. (not a U.S. citizen) We are planning on getting married in a few weeks in order to start my green card application process. I am currently living and working in Canada. These are my questions:

During the application process for me to receive a Green Card....am I allowed to be in the U.S.? For longer than 6 months (which is the visitor maximum)?

Can I work in the U.S. while my GreenCard application is in process (without my own TN/H1B etc)??

Please help!! Thanks everyone!

Hmm, sorry was checking the individual guides and http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare, they seem to all suggest USC only . Didnt intend to misinform

He doesn't need to be one. It'll just take longer to get a spousal greencard

H1b would be more logical than TN

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
