Hi Guys,

I arrived here in the US last Sept 24, and I just realized that I need to apply for SSN. Now, my question is since my I-94 is due today Sept. 30, what are my options then? I'm thinking of applying the SSN after getting married. Do you thin that is possible?

I badly need your assistance :(

I-94 is valid for 90 days from POE. You need 14 days remaining on the I-94 to apply for your SSN, otherwise you have to wait until you have your EAD (Employment Authorization Document, I-765 when you file the I-485) or green card.

Shouldn't your I-94 expire 90 days after your arrival since you came with a K1 visa? What date does it say on 'Admit Until: '

That is what Hank said.

What's EAD? Is it the same as AOS?

When you process your AOS there are three parts that you apply for your Green Card (GC) your Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and your Application for Travel.

More details at the twisting arrow in my signature below. Go to the tab for "AOS".
