I'm in the UK and my fiancé just moved back to California where we are planning to get married in November. We received the hardcopy approval from the NVC today (30th Sept), my medical is booked in London for next week (6th Oct) and I filed my notification of readiness with the US Embassy online a week ago (Wednesday 23rd Sept). I've checked our case status on the CEAC website and it says that my case is "Ready" for my interview "when scheduled" at the US Consular Section.

My question is whether I have to do anything else at the moment, or just sit tight and wait for something to come to me from the embassy in London? And if so, how long will this take? If I call the embassy will they be able to help me out or give me any direction whatsoever?

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Your K1 information from the embassy is here. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/fiance_instructions.html .

Notice Step 4

Step 4 Once you have completed steps 1-3 above, notify the Immigrant Visa Unit that you are ready for an inteview by using our Notification of Applicant Readiness online form, here. They will complete all necessary processing of your visa application and will contact you in writing if additional information is required. Your application will take up to 6 weeks to process at the end of which, you will be notified of the date of the appointment for the visa interview

They do not consider you complete with all the steps until the medical results reach them. Once that is in, you should receive an appointment letter within six weeks. It varies, but not usually the full six weeks.

There is no number for calling to speak to the Immigrant Visa Unit.

Ugh, I guess we won't be getting married in November then! Thanks for your help, I'll just sit tight.
