Hi everyone - After 3 weeks of not responded to my emails, I called the US Consulate and got a real person on the very first time. She was very nice and patient with me. She said that they recieved the physical package yesterday and that Packet 3 was also sent out the same day to my fiancee.

I know packet 3 is pretty simple from what everyone has told me. My fiancee has to filled out the required forms and submit the required documents. I have to get the 1-134 completed and send it to her.

Is there anything that I can do now that would save me some time later? I know somewhere it was recommended that certain documents be ordered early because it takes time for them to arrive. Can you let me know what these documents are? And how long it generally takes to arrive after they have been order?

Am I handling everything correctly? Or am I missing something. I appreciate everyone's input.

Congratulations. You are moving along well now. A lot of VJ members had activity this week too. As for what you can do now- it is a good time to start gathering your letters from your bank and employer. Start making copies of your tax forms and try to obtain those tax transcripts they are asking for now.

Besides the Tax transcript, you can tell her preparing to apply for police permit after she received the packet 3, then translate into English at notary office. Remember to translate all the necessary documents into English such as birth cert., divorced cert....

Last time, they told me that they sent packet 3 to me, however, it took me 2 more weeks to receive the packet 3 although I was staying in HCMC, it's only one day for the mail goes by normal post office.

I think that you wife has to wait for at least 1 weeks more.

HIEN

I am a little confused, I have my W2' from 2004 thru current and also the tax returns.

Do I still need to get the transcripts?? It seems redundant....

I would include it if you have it, include all of it. The instruction on some Package 3 said "Tax Returns" and some "Tax Transcript". Take a look at the words exactly. And yes, it is redundant. Just think of it as adding your address on multiple forms. In case the consulate had a bad day better not risk it. I'm waiting for my fiance to receive her Packet 3 and I'm planning on sending her my W2, Tax Returns, and Tax Transcript from the IRS from 2002 - 2006. Not to mention letter from employer that list salary, pay stub for the past year and 1/2. The whole nine yards.
