Never heard of this; tattoos typically seem to be evaluated in the medical exam.

I'd contact the embassy again as a top priority, and not rest until I got a definitive answer.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi Samantha,

I had the same problem at my husband's interview for his immigrant visa. We had our interview appointment back in July everything was going ok, until the officer asked my husband if he had any tattoos, all of his tattoos he got in U.S. we explain that to him and he saw all of them (my husband has my name, his son's face and name a cross with his grandmother's name and the virgin of guadalupe he was born on her day). Officer told us that the case was going to be under investigation, about 10 minutes after he was interviewed by another officer (Hispanic officer). This guy took pictures of all of his tattoos. Unfortunately my husband was born and raised in a dangerous neighborhood in SPS, so this officer insisted that he was related with gangs. They contacted us the same day and reschedule another interview but he asked my husband again the same questions about his tattoos he also asked him if any of his family members were arrested which I think it was out of context. I think the officer did not like my husband. I had to come back to the U.S. because of work and I am pregnant.

My husband stayed in Honduras I called his attorney and he E-mail the Immigrant Visa unit to check what was the issue and the delay. They schedule a third interview and on that interview the same officer did not said anything about his tattoos he accused my husband of taking drugs on a weekly basis. We did not understand why if they had his medical exams he was asking those kind of questions. I contacted the attorney again and we got a copy of the drug test from the Dr. office who did the Medical exam and we sent proof via E-mail that he was not involved in gangs or that he consumed drugs how this officer accused him. Well my husband spent about 2 months and a half in Honduras and the attorney again send another E-mail and his visa was approved thank God. I hope you don't go through the same bad experience we went through and I hope that officer at the U.S. embassy stop what he is doing with people's families separating them without any reason......

Do you happen to have a number for a good lawyer or the number to the consulate to check the status?

My point exactly I've been searching and nothing
