Gotcha! Thanks for letting me know.

We're just curious because we're traveling right now and plan to have one of our friends check our mailbox before our mail hold begins. We purposefully delayed our mail hold in hopes that the EAD gets delivered and our friend can bring it to us on our trip. :)

I wrote a full detailed account of our AOS process, timeline, AP use, and interview on my blog. You can read it here.

Timeline

So, I sent an inquiry on the status of my EAD as it will hit the 75 day mark on or about the 13th of this month. My inquiry was completed the day after I submitted it. Received a letter in the mail today-2 actually. One says that my case is in suspension as a biometric is needed. The other is my biometric letter with a 01/12/16 date. I had submitted an inquiry on the biometric a week before that and the response said that my case was in the pre-processing stage with no definite timeline. As another VJ member suggested, submit inquiries on your case and it forces an IO to pick it up and work on it. Good luck to everyone.

Chejemmie Timeline:

No interview date yet...looking at the other people who filed in September/October now I'm concerned we may have to reschedule our interview because we'll be traveling internationally in mid-March. Really puts a strain on future planning...

Sean & Chrsitina.....what are the timelines for September filers?

I haven't heard a word on my appointment, but to be honest I'm not expecting to hear anything till next month or so.

Just wondering if September filers have gotten their appointments yet?

I truly believe that those who are adjusting from student visas take longer than those with tourist visas and obviously K-1 visas (because they've already had a preliminary interview). I've searched through the September/October 2014 threads from last year and everyone who had a tourist visa, ESTA, or family based visas moved so quickly! One poor guy adjusting from an F-1 visa took 11 months--without an RFE. Here I'm seeing those with non-student visas receiving their interview notices and green cards in a matter of a few months WITH RFEs! Just getting very frustrated.

Timeline

Ok so I was at the door about 20 minutes early as there was a line to get in but to go through the security. They even made me take off my shoes!

And finally we made it to the sitting area where we waited about 20 minutes to be called.

Then the interviewer called my name. We went into the office and he told us his name (which I don't remember )

And made us say that we will tell the truth and nothing but the truth!

Then he asked for our IDs and passports.

So then he asked me my name and went over the papers.

Making sure my name was right and my birthday.

He asked all the questions that are on the I485. All related to drugs and guns. Terrorism. Blah blah. Those were the yes or no.

He then asked me my husbands birthday and our current address. As well as my parents names also.

He then asked my husband for his name and his parents name. And for my birthday.

He was very nice and made conversation!

Finally he asked how we met. And how long we have been together.

How was it that I decided to stay here in the US.

We also talked about our daughter and how old she was. And where was she at the moment. (At school)

He asked what did we do for our one year anniversary. And we said we went out to party in Hollywood. And he said "ooooh Hollywood!!!" He's expressions were a little funny.

He then asked if we had any evidence. And I had some insurance papers. Some utility bills and joint bank accounts. He actually kept those. And put them in my file.

He then steped out to make copies of our drivers licenses and passports. When he came back he sat down and started typing something on the computer. He then said "congratulations" and shook my hand. I said thank you!

He gave me a print out of the authorization. And explained to me that I was granted the two year green card because we've only been married one year. And explained that I can apply for my permanent one as early as October of 2017!!

Somehow the subject of our daughter came up again and I said I brought pictures he should take a look. And so he did! He looked at the album.

He made comments of how much my daughter looks just like her dad. A little laugh here and there.

After all he asked if we had any questions and I asked about the social security and he said to wait til I have the green card in had to go apply for a SSN because their database is not the same so the SS office doesn't know I have a green card yet. So I would have to wait 4-6 weeks for the green card.

And that's about it I walked out of there being a resident for the grace of GOD!!!!

Have faith everyone. And be relaxed!!!! Everything is going to be ok. Wether you are granted the 2 year conditional or the permanent you'll be ok!!!

Good luck everyone.

I hope I gave you a deflated interview. I sometimes have short term memory (not true) and forget things kinda fast!

I forgot to say that you should take your passport and your husbands passport as well. Also your IDs. Take as much evidence as you have.

And ORIGINAL brith certificates and marriage certificates.
