It's coming up to one month since my passport arrived at the embassy. Although my case isn't an actual 221g situation, it was slighty different as I had to send off extra documents after which they requested my passport to be sent to the embassy, so it's fairly similar).

I wouldn't have anticipated it taking half as long as this. My CEAC status has been 'ready' for almost this whole time.

I've emailed the embassy but obviously they've ignored this like they ignore all correspondence.

Any advice? I'm starting to get that paranoid feeling that only immigration applicants can know, whereby there might be something I need to be doing?

It's been 7 months since I've seen my wife and I'm in such a state of helplessness.

I know how you feel. We've been waiting in "READY" for a month now (as you can see my timeline below and compare it with yours). For fiance cases, it changes from "Immigrant" in the title to "Nonimmigrant" and the NVC case matches with the AA# we get when we fill out the DS-160.

I was so happy with the pace of our process up to this point. My mood has really darkened overall for the past two weeks. I have seen a round of at least five cases go from Ready>AP>Issued last week, and now I'm seeing another round of cases about to be issued.

They told us on September 22nd that the embassy is working on the final visa package for issuance. To this day, we have been in Ready for 28 days and our last update was 21 days ago. No indication that anything is wrong. Others are getting issued just fine. I'm trying not to compare our case with others, but my hope is turning into pain. Each morning I wake up hoping to see at least an update, but still no change.

Our emails have been scant too. We received an email on August 26th saying he should have been contacted to pick up his passport, and if he hadn't to send another email....which gone unanswered. The last email called him my client!!!

I know my embassy is busy and I don't want to pester them too much, but this is a month already!

Hang in there, trandy. When was your interview and when did your case change to Ready? Has it stayed "Ready" since it arrived at the embassy? Normally, even if you need to provide further documents, they put you in AP. How long have you been waiting since your interview?

Thanks man. Sorry for your wait. Right with you on that. I check twice per day and it's very depressing and infuriating in equal parts.

Interview date was something like late July. I didn't have vaccinations and was intending on not getting them but changed my mind. So I had the medical folks request that I resubmit my docs. So did that and a few days later they'd requested my passport. So sent that in, few days later my status went from refused to ready, that was around the first week in sept. It updated every few days after. It recently updated almost 3 days in a row. Last one on 28th. But has always been 'ready'. I'm not even sure that in my case it will change to AP.

Gotta be hard that yours hasn't budged in so long :/

So, I know my situation is unique, but is there any indication of how long this COULD take?
