Hi everyone.

I don't know if I am posting in the right section. Please move it if needed.

I got my travel card a while ago, and we are thinking of heading up to Canada next weekend.

My husband and I have passports but, our 1 year old doesn't. I keep reading that, birth certificate is sufficient enough and we won't need a passport for him. We will be traveling by car.

Has anyone tried this? I can't seem to find a number to call and ask. Any help or answers would be great.

Thank you so much.

By land children under 16 only need their birth certificate. We went back up to Canada again this past July and had no issues with my youngest two.

By plane you need a passport, by land you only need a birth certificate. (for children 16 years of age or under). That said, I would apply for a passport any way. It's always good to have a second form of ID/record in any situation. Like what if you lose your birth certificate while traveling in Canada?

When I visited the Philippines I brought my birth certifcate in the event I lost my passport I could prove to the US embassy that I am a citizen of the USA and expedite a passport.

Right.he is 15mos. We just wanted to go to for thanksgiving and I don't think a passport would come in time. We do want to get him one for future travels.

Has anyone had any issues traveling back into the USA with AP?

I'm a little worried they may give me that 3 year ban since we had a long wait getting the AOS started.

I have my EAD and AP card and a letter from uscis saying I maybe eligible for a interview Wavier. I plan on bringing all my documents with me including marriage certificate. I know I will be pulled in and questioned regardless.
