Anyone else had a visit from the FBI?

An FBI agent just visited my house to interview me. It was in relation to me bringing a spouse to the USA who is from "a country of interest to the US government". First he explained why the government is concerned about countries like Egypt, Pakistan, Iraq, etc. etc. and told me our government is working very hard to prevent terrorists from slipping into the USA by way of K1, CR1, etc. etc.

He even took photos of in the inside of a note book I titled, "Visa Journey" where I have been keeping track of every detail of the visa process, and jotting down personal thoughts along the way.

He asked about my children, my family, my husband's family, our plans for the future, my work, my husband's work, etc etc. He asked a couple odd questions like, when I said we plan to move out of the tiny town I currently live in, he said, "I suppose it may be in part due to there not being a mosque in your community?" Huh?

He asked to see my facebook and my husband's, and jotted down our facebook addresses and asked to see photos of my spouse, and of the two of us together. He asked about our last trip and what we were doing there.

Has anyone else had a visit from the FBI in relation to their spouse or fiancé who is in the process of obtaining a visa to the USA?

You are not required to answer any of their question nor to let them in your house. I was visited by the FBI a few years ago in relation to some tweets I had made and they knew I was married to a man from the Middle East. I did not let them in the house and certainly would not have given them any personal information. Unless they have a warrant they can't do anything.

I was afraid if I didn't cooperate, they would think we're up to something nefarious, and they may somehow cause my husband to not obtain the visa. I feel nauseated over this. I don't know if I helped our hurt the situation.,,,whatever that situation is! I don't know what's going on.

Be very careful in dealing with the FBI. They have been known to set people up to make it look like they are terrorist and/or asking them to become informants for them. I do not trust them at all nor any law enforcement although I can sympathize with your position. The FBI is not immigration, they are part of federal law enforcement.

That's what worries me. I know they're deceptive, manipulative and underhanded bald faced liars. God only knows what they really want or why. I hope that by cooperating, I didn't give them anything at all which they can twist around.

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yeah, I agree I screwed up by being so cooperative. Especially now that I feel sure of what caused this to happen in the first place. I believe it was my darling bigot brother, making a false report to the FBI in hopes of preventing me from "going against God's will by being married to a Muslim." I'm heart broken and sick over this. I was too nauseated to even eat breakfast this morning.

I wonder if it's possible that an unfounded report could be enough to cause my husband to be denied a visa.
