"Good morning, I am inquiring about the status of my case, do I have a scheduled interview date at this time? NO

Is there any particular reason for the delays and is there a forcast for possible interviews? There is no reason for the delay. There is a big numbers of applicants to be booked before you. We could estimate an appointment but not before April.

Merci de votre temps."

one day I really will have to sit down and read more, cause I have no idea of any kind of processing other than regular K-1...Im way too confused about this K-3/k-1/CR-1/I-130/I-129f thing...

Sooo , I dont get why its long like that for you, and any of you doing the same process as Cutienpurg :(

We've fallen down a rabbit hole, and like Alice, find ourselves in a topsy turvy world without rhyme or reason. Got it? No? Then pour yourself a stiff one, because the reality is that Montreal can take 6 months from NOA2 to an interview. Why? Because that's the way it is here down in the rabbit hole.

It's not what we wanted or planned. It's not fair or efficient. So let's just accept the planet we landed on and work with what we've got. They're calling the shots while we fret and rail and complain but have no cards to play. Even after we get the visa, we start the same BS all over again trying for AOS. It's like we've landed in Purgatory and are being punished for all the swear words we ever uttered.

So CP, I'm sorry. And wish I could wave a magic wand. But know this: your turn IS coming and you'll get everything you desire. And when it happens at last, your partner will be even more desirable than ever, because you both had to work so hard to be together.

Hang in there. Montreal's better in Spring, anyway.

Without going into details.............we have had one blow after another over the past 4 years that have kept us apart. As of right now we are 17 months past the date we initially thought we could live together.........525 days of saying " I don't know........". I started out patient.......I used the last of that resource last month. I'm tired..........I need my partner. It's not just the immi process.... but it falls on the end of many other hurdles, misinformation, incompetence and just plain not caring on the part of those who's lives are not affected by it all. We did our part........we paid our money , we got in line.......we waited.

and we wait

Mephys...... there really isn't a lot of difference in the k-1 and k-3 in regard to processing. There are some subtle differences in the way I-129F is completed and in as much as they are different visas, the k-3 technically processes along the same path your k-1 does.

Jersey...........I know in 5 years this wont matter and I really am trying to find some upside here. I dont need to tell you of all people how disheartening this is.......you're probably the one person who can truly relate.

LOLOLOL Im afraid if I start drinking again I wont stop........EVER!

Anyway .......thanks you guys :)

CP, there is a silver lining and it's this: in a world of divorce and short-lived relationships, K-3 couples stand the test of time. Why? Because they've already persevered and won! If you two can survive this process, then you've been tested by fire and will be inseparable once you're finally together. If love is about actions, then all the acts of fidelity and sacrifice will prove to be far more valuable than empty words and boxes of chocolates. Stay strong! You will succeed!

I'm so sorry to hear about your wait times. I felt horrible when I read your posting. I can't empathize with your wait time, however I CAN empathize wanting to be with the one you love, and having beauracracy deny that at this time. What's harder still is when friends and family in an attempt to cheer you up, don't really do that. They don't understand.

Know that we understand and feel for you. And it's March 1st today... what's the big deal about scheduling April, May's..and heck Junes interviews!!??? At least then you'd have a timeline to countdown! Best of luck in hearing something soon.

Big Hugs for you!!

CutienPurg -- I'm feeling your pain.

Thanks for sharing the latest word from the consulate (even thought it's not what either of us want to hear). Our timelines are close -- in 13 days it will be 4 months since they received my Packet 3; the supposed maximum I'd have to wait. *sigh*

Hang in there. You can do it!!

Hopefully ya 'all will hear some positive news!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I can relate. Oh, how I can relate.

I'm to the point now to where I cry every time I visit this site. Every time I think about how 3 entire months were wasted, how Montréal got our petition in November but my finacé only last week sent the stupid checklist... we'll probably be waiting until June for his interview...

12/28/07 - EAD approved!

01/07/08 - EAD received

02/08/08 - GREEN CARD APPROVED!!!!!!

02/16/08 - Green card received!

*headdesk*:

01/02/09 - Réjean loses his wallet containing his drivers license, Social Security card, and green card

02/04/09 - Our best friends bail us out by giving us the money to file for the replacement green card!

02/12/09 - E-filed I-90 for the replacement green card along with the $370 filing fee (including biometrics)

02/19/09 - NOA1

ahhh you're due for a break......

they claim ......lemme restate that...... THEY CLAAAAAAIM.........that the date of their receiving your file is their office is the key date. Maybe, just maybe.. the checklist isnt the key card at all, but the DS-230 is.

Im still holding out hope for you guys that this glitch wont cause any big delay.

Thank you so much. :)

I've been thinking about the very same thing the past few days... that it should be when they receive the file that matters and not the checklist. But when did they TRULY receive it? When I e-mailed them at the beginning of January, they said they had mailed out Packet 3 in November. Then after my fiancé didn't receive it, I e-mailed them back and they said they JUST got the file. What the ####. I don't know which date to go by. -_-

My fiancé still needs to get his birth certificate and have it translated and notarized... *sigh*
