Do we need a co-sponsor?

My husband earns enough money for us BUT this is his first year paying taxes since many, many years as he is young and had a difficult background he went back living in his parents house. So when they ask us for the documents we will have: employment letter, his w9 taxes for 2015 (he gets this in march, april 2016 right?) and draft from his bank showing he has gotten paid by the company that hires him the last few months as he gets paid with checks, the company in question does not want to give us paystubs of some reason and say the draft from the bank should be enough proving he gets paid by the bank.

Will this be sufficient or do we need a co-sponsor?
I am thinking because he doesnt have taxes three years back or paystubs.

Banks are familiar w/ this request, they can provide deposit history and such. Average balance and history. may want to see if they can include average deposit. His company doesnt have any online system that provides epaystubs? via ADP or internally?

Kind of odd. I would think anyone should be entitled to paystub to know where their taxes and stuff and going to.

Does he have a valid reason for not filing taxes? If so he needs to put that in writing. If he just didn't care he need to file the taxes for those years.

Yes it is odd. The employer only keep physical copies of the checks. He should easily be able to write paystubs to my husband but he says as hes an independant worker he doesnt get those and sends him to the bank to get drafts instead as he has gotten paid with checks his employer says he should easily be able to prove his income through that way.

In writing? His reason is that he lived at home, he had like maybe $400 from his parents a month to get by with. How do you mean in typing? A letter from his parents stating that?

He last paid taxes in 2007. And he has helped his family's business for bread crumbs, $400 a month. What paper does he need. He is 28.

If he is an independent worker, like self employed , he will get his W2's in january from who ever hired him

And to answer the question if you need a co-sponsor..it depends also on how much he makes. How many will he sponsor, yourself and how many kids?

We know he earns enough but will the USCIS accept that he doesnt have the taxpapers? That is why I am thinking we might need a co-sponsor.

And his employer said he will file W9 and 1099, not W2. When does he get his tax return so we can show this to USCIS?

Sorry I meant to write 1099...Idk why I wrote W2. Anyway, he should receive all that jazz in January. Not March or April. Is your husband an independent worker as self employed? If so does he have like a contract with the person who pays him?

He has an employment letter stating hourly rate, when he started employment, that he is an independent worker but needed around 40-50hrs/week and expected salary per year. So like an usual employee but without the benefits, guess its the employer's way of not having to do that for his employees. But he earns like $2000 more than what he has to. So on that part we are good.

Im conjecturing here, but seems like maybe a sponsor is warranted. Doesnt sound like this employer is well :/

I'll leave it at that. Certainly doesn't sound supportive and wants nothing more to draw attention to the :/

The parents sound a bit :/ as well. So not sure would want them to be sponsoring.

Well with that letter and bank statements showing money coming in each month he might be good on that part. And then he will send his taxes from last year and a letter explaining why he didn't file taxes prior years. It could work. You can always have a joint sponsor as a back up if you get a ref on it
