Where are you going with this? Are you saying some heterosexual people feel superior to homosexual people ? Well thank goodness I don't hangout with such a crowd.

Where are they going with it? I think you can take a wild guess... Let's recap:.

A) Some people find the homosexual mindset "disgusting" and repulsive".

B) Homophobe is an incorrect term for such people and more accurate labels are needed.

C) It's natural for people to want to feel superior to other people.

D) Bigotry is not learned behaviour, it is natural. Perhaps even hereditary.

as he is always ingenious, I will allow Bill Bonner and his effortless wit, excerpted from a recent "diary of a rogue economist" go a long way towards correcting the narrow vision and narrower yet brush you attempt to corral my words with... Bill, take it away:

Since we are a competitive species, we feel good about ourselves in direct measure as we feel superior to those around us. If we are trim, it does no good unless those around us are not. If we are smart, we get no advantage from it unless others are dumb. And if we are rich, it is only meaningful to the extent that others are less rich. But so clever is our race that we are able to find superiority almost everywhere. If we are fat, we redefine the corpulent spectrum so that we are “pleasingly plump,” while others are “unhealthy” and “too thin.”

If we are dumb, we focus on our “common sense,” as opposed to the uncommon nonsense of the “pointy-headed intellectuals” (to borrow a phrase from George Wallace). And what if we have no money? Then spending money is vulgar, shallow, and pointless! One person feels superior because of what he owns. Another for what he does not. Still another for what he knows. And another for what he knows not.

And one feels superior from who he is, while another measures his stature by who he is not.

I don't always get my posts deleted on V.J., but when I do it's a good indication I was right and they couldn't handle it !!!

Do you feel disgusted by the homosexual "mindset"?

Or how about a less salacious question? What is your opinion of:

a) homosexuality.

b) People who are disgusted by homosexuality.

?

I am just an observer, one that realizes that my opinion has no influence on the 7 billion people here..

and I am a believer in the theory that if we have inner peace, we would need no outer conquest..

As an observer what do you think about the specific subject of homosexuality? I'm trying to understand what you believe.

I actually don't have an issue with anyone who holds unconscious prejudices about homosexuals, so long as they understand why they have those prejudices and don't use them to the detriment of other people's human rights.

yeah but schadenfrude doesn't really explain how one gets NO ADVANTAGE from being smart unless others are dumb.

i'm still trying to figure out the reasoning behind this..

YOU COMPLETELY MISS THE POINT,, ITS NOT ABOUT ME,, WHOM I LOVE OR HOW I FEEL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT YOU CAN NEVER CLEANSE THE DESIRE FOR 7,000,000,000 PEOPLE TO FIND WAYS TO FEEL SUPERIOR TO EACH OTHER.. IN CHICKENS IT'S KNOWN AS PECKING ORDER

I didn't realize I had allcaps,

It is about you. Unless you can prove to me you're no longer a member of the human race, you fall into that category. You found a way to love and marry a woman whose from a different country. You were able to accomplish something that, according to you, shouldn't be possible. Considering that many people do this, it's not as absurd as you make it out to be.

and my lady and I are so far apart in age, we are definitely superior to each other in many ways..

the plasticity of her brain in computer functions blows me away.. and I am taller than her.. :-P

No you're not. She might be more versed in computers than you, but that in no way makes her more superior than you, no more than your height does....

Not really. Superiority complex normally accompany those with endowed with puny brains. Well adjusted persons don't feel the need to be or consider themselves superior to others.

It wasn't a question, really.

Logical fallacy: Post hoc.

Those folks aren't endowed with anything John, that's the problem

I see this as an attempt to not say what you're really thinking. It's what the Motley Crew does on a daily basis. Rather than just say how they feel about something, this comes out and it makes no real sense.

If you have an issue with gay people, that's on you. It's just like folks who hate minorities, it's too hard to convey those thoughts without breaking the TOS. If that's the case, maybe it's time to rethink your position.

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” – Coretta Scott King

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.

To be honest this is where political correctness is a problem - it makes people deny their own beliefs.

People (all people) are prejudiced about something or other and it comes out in various ways. Not necessarily overt hatred, but subconscious beliefs that make, for example, someone cross the road if they see a black guy, or feeling uncomfortable if they see gay people holding hands or kissing in public.

It doesn't specifically mean that those people are racist or bigoted, rather that they aren't perfect.

As long as a person understands why they have those reactions and doesn't use them to oppress others, it's really only an issue for the individual.

The people who are vocal about their prejudices - the gay bashers and race hate groups, they are a whole different animal.
