Context warrior at work eh? Perhaps you missed the poster in the thread who wished that more gay people "would act straight". I don't know what you think about that, but I know what it says to me.

Are you deliberately setting yourself up for a one-liner? Ha ha.

How about the context of plain English?

sorry, not a requirement in the usa. Is this a thing where you reside? Oh well, i'll assume yes, and pray you find your bubble of peace, and soon!

I don't believe that's what I said.

I said the statement 'acting gay' seems homophobic.

Note that the poster didn't say acting camp, he said 'acting gay'.

The belief perhaps that if you're gay, you look and sound particular way? I don't know about you, but that sure seems to me like a stereotyped belief about gay people.

Most folks don't actually know who is and is not gay, so they rely on what they see on TV. On TV, gay people act really gay. Prolly because they're paid to. Blame the stereotype on that and go jump the folks in Hollywood about it.

Are you deliberately setting yourself up for a one-liner? Ha ha.

Tear his a-- up. He wants it, we can all tell

funny how "homophobia" is bandied about as a branding iron.. but it's definition is "fear, hatred or mistrust"

I bet most have no fear, little if any hatred, and trust isn't an issue as we are all human..

perhaps we need a word for moral repulsion or disgust, as I would argue these are what are truly felt by those that value their stand against the homosexual mindset.. however, I don't have a word to suggest.. any suggestions??

I don't always get my posts deleted on V.J., but when I do it's a good indication I was right and they couldn't handle it !!!

Anyone who relies on TV to define for them the lives of others is probably going to have a difficult time adjusting to life beyond their white picket fence.

might be a stretch but i think the words are "moral repulsion" or "disgust'

as for suggestions try "minding your own business"

if it grosses you out, don't enter into a homosexual relationship. problem solved.

The word you're looking for is "ignorance".

The "homosexual mindset" eh?

OK, I'll bite. What is it that disgusts you about gay people?

I have no personal statement to share.. only that we cant solve differences with improper labeling..

I would label myself in many ways, as would anyone who was honest with themselves...

but to accept the use of "blanket-labeling" wrongly applied, brings no one closer to a well reasoned exchange..
