How important do you think it is that the USC be present at the embassy interview in Bogota?

Hi there,

I see you are just starting your journey...this is a great website...just in case you don't know there is a Colombia Club thread with alot of great information from couples that have already gone through the process and the embassy in Bogota. I had my interview in Bogota last week with my husband and it went well thank GOD we were approved. But one thing i noticed was that all the couples that were there together were approved, while all the individuals that were there without there significant other were denied. So if at all possible its a BIG plus to be there with your 2nd half....

Quihubo! Carlos handled the interview on his own in bogota sans me. But, here is the thing about this process: there is not method to the madness! Hahaha. As soon as you think you know this process like the back of your hand, they suprise you. I think that there are a bunch of differnt variables on whether or not you will or won't be approved. Some people think that the spouse should definitely be there and other think it really doesn't matter. If you wan tto read about other members experiences at the Embassy in Colombia, you can read about them on the Embassy section of this site. I included quetsions Carlos was asked. I wish all the luck and patience in the world to you and your SO. If you ever have questions, feel free to ask. Un abrazo.

A second Colombia thread in the Embassy section is for CR-1 filers. A lot of talk of interviews and what they have seen and learned from others at the embassy that day. Not giving advice on this one. I am lucky and will be there. More so for the trip back. First time away from Colombia and a ful day in US airports will be no fun for a non-english speaker. Besides gives me a good reason to go to Colombia for a week..
