So I got my NOA2 from the USCIS it said not to contact the NVC for 30 days after they recieve my case. On the website it says my case was sent to the NVC september 8th. Do I need to contact them or will they eventually send me the documentation I need to continue the process?

*** Thread moved from CR-1 Process forum to the NVC forum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Have you received the NVC case number?

Each embassy has its own requirments but you will need criminal invesitgation reports from spouse and IRS tax returns

As soon as you get the NVC case number, you should recieve the invoices to pay 2 fees / after they are processed you can filll out the I 864 and DS 260

After USCIS approves the petition, it is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). Once received, the NVC will assign a case number for the petition and instruct the applicant to complete Form DS-261, Choice of Address and Agent. (NOTE: If you already have an attorney, the NVC will not instruct you to complete Form DS-261.) The NVC will begin pre-processing the applicant’s case by providing the applicant and petitioner with instructions to submit the appropriate fees. After the appropriate fees are paid, the NVC will request that the applicant submit the necessary immigrant visa documents, including the Affidavit of Support, application forms, civil documents, and more. Learn more about National Visa Center visa case processing.

yes you should contact the NVC to get your case and invoice number they might not have it yet if not just wait a little while couple of days or a week and call back. The number is 16033340700 they are open from 7am to midnight EST. best times to call is early in the morning right when they open or late at night right before they close

According to another post you will be able to pay both fees. if so that is good. When I did my wife cr-1 visa you fill out the ds-261 choice of agent form and paid the AOS fee. The IV fee will not show until the DS-261 form was review. While waiting on that to be review you could send in both AOS and IV packets to start the review of your documents which is separate review process. After the packets was sent in. I was able to call in have them review the DS-261 over the phone then I was able to pay the IV fee and fill the ds-260 visa application form for my wife shortly after we had case complete

At the bottom of my signature is a webpage I am working on to help people from the Philippines doing a cr-1 visa. I just thought since me and my wife was able to do her visa in a short amount of time I will share what I have learn

Do not wait for them to contact you, just be prepared for a long wait on the phone if and when you can get through to them, after they put you on hold it is a 45-60 wait ,.,.,.,at least.

Just hang in there with them, you can do it!

If USCIS sent your case to NVC on or around September 8th, they may have gotten it a week later.

My husband, the USC, got a letter from NVC after about two weeks, with our case number, IIN and instructions. I, the foreign spouse, got the same letter a week after that. So in your case, the USC should probably get the letter from NVC any day now.
