Hi There

I have been trying to contact the embassy but with no luck. I wanted to find some info out for my parter before we apply.

He holds a Jamaican passport but has indefinite leave to remain in UK

He was denied entry to The USA from Jamaica in 1999

Can he still apply for a VISA? We tried to contact the USA for the form needed for the denied part but they dont have it.

If he goes ahead and pays for a tourist visa, will he lose the money if denied a visa

anyone can apply, and yes, no matter what the outcome of a visa interview, the application fee is kept (same amount of paperwork and peoplework to manage a denial as well as an issuance)

'indefinite leave' is also known as being unemployed.

how can indefinite leave be known as unemployed? He has a full time job and has been working in the UK for the same place 9 years.

You have no knowledge of UK immigration, ILR is basically a LPR in US speak.

You pay your money and apply, he gets it or he does not.

What was the reason for the denial of entry in 1999, that can be relevant and he will likely be questioned about it whenever he applies for another visa
