IR1/CR1 filing by USC husband in USCIS Manila - Im working in Singapore

Hi Everyone,

My husband will be filing I-130 soon, petition for alien relative in USCIS Manila. USC Husband has been staying in PH for more than 2years now and he might be going back to the US soon.

My question is:

1) Is it possible for me to receive all correspondences to my Singapore address or use husband's US address?

2) Can I have the visa interview in Singapore US Embassy or I need to do it in Manila?

Use the address in Singapore and yes you can interview there.

Anywhere where it ask for your address then you use your Singapore address. Petitioner uses his address and beneficiary, you will use your Singapore address. Usually the cover letter is submitted by the petitioner and therefore will have his address. Best thing to do is read the directions and/or answer with what makes sense.

Why don't you just do DCF. Only takes a few weeks to complete. I believe you walk into the Embassy and file it and do interview

I AGREE with Greenbaum you should do DCF.It is much quicker then the normal route for the IR-1/Cr-1 visa

Yes you can use your Singapore address and have your interview there.

If you decide to do it the normal way thru the USCIS and the NVC.

Hard to do a DIRECT CONSULATE FILING when she is not in the Philippines to have her interview at USEM.

yes but she is still a citizen of the Philippines. If she is working in Singapore she will have to quit her job eventually to move to the USA. I am assuming she wants to come here with her husband. So if they knew for sure when her husband was leaving for the USA. Then if possible ( she probably has a contract in Singapore ) She could move back to the Phlippines. They could do the DCF route. They will get the visa faster and will be able to come to the USA together

I assume she is Filipina

Thank you for your answers. We will file for the I-130 first and hopefully gets approved then I can update you guys about appt interview.

I can always fly back to Manila anytime, provided my boss will allow me to go on emergency leave on the date of interview ..

DCF takes about 60 days from filing date to issued. The other route takes most of a year.
