Hello,

I am from Canberra, ACT, but I have taken an appointment next week for an interview for a L1B visa with the Perth office as there was less wait time and visa processing time then the Sydney consulate that is closer to my location (and I always wanted to visit Perth), however I have just seen on the US consulate website that "U.S. Consular Offices serve the states or territories in which you reside" which in the case of Canberra, ACT would be Sydney, NSW. I have already booked the appointment and paid the visa fee, so I am not sure what to do? I would call them but of course, it's the long week-end and now I am stressed out about it as I have been waiting for a long time for the petition to be approved (4+months) and I wanted to go to the interview and get this over with asap but now I am wondering if I didn't just waste a few more days and a visa application fee by booking with the wrong consulate.

Does that mean that I cannot go to the Perth office or would that still be fine for me to go there? What do you guys think?

Regards

Well, I just called (looks like someone is working even though it's a public holiday) and it's fine at any consulate. I figured as much, but I wanted to be sure.

These visas applications can be so stressful that we sometimes seem to stress for no good reason. In any case, it's all sorted.
