are all these approvals from your local office or VSC?

VSC. Just giving a heads up that you might receive your approval in the mail before it's updated in your online case status.

So I got tired of waiting and called USCIS. The 2nd tier officer told me that the system shows my case has been scheduled for an interview, and I will receive something in the mail about the interview once they find an available slot :(

My NOA was 10/23/2015.

How did you call them? Whats number? Could you show me? I want to call but don't how to ask for Tier2. Please

The customer service number 1-800-375-5283

I asked the rep to transfer me to a tier 2 officer. It will ask you to set up a call back appointment and I got a call back after a few hours.

Hello, I would like to go home this december too. But haven't hear anything yet, I filed on Nov 3-2015. Do you think I can get an I-551 stamp and come back to the us with exipire extension letter?

I got the I-551 stamp because I lost my expired Greencard. I made an INFO pass appt and they assured me that travelling with my passport with the I-551 stamp was just fine. I have yet to do it.. but they tell me I will be fine!

anyone else have any stories about this?

Just want to let everyone know that I actually received the approval notice from VSC today! The decision was also made on Oct 6, the same day I called USCIS tier 2 officer and was told my case was pending with my local USCIS district office and due for an interview.

Not sure what actually happened there but I am glad it alll worked out!

Online status still shows case received

Part 2 Question 6 also says "(If any)", so if you do not have that don't worry.

After they receive your application they will give you instructions to open online account when they send you the NOA.

10/08/2016: Application Package Sent

10/31/2016: Early Biometric Done (Walk-In)

12/06/2016: In Line for Interview

04/20/2016: Online Status Changed to "Interview was Scheduled"

05/25/2017: Interview Date- Approved!

06/01/2017: Reply to RFE (N-14) Sent

09/20/2017: Email from Ombudsman confirming that they got in touch with USCIS, advised to wait 60 days.

09/22/2017: Request to find out about the case to Senator, acknowledged the receipt of inquiry.

10/02/2017: Ombudsman’s office notified that USCIS made a decision on the case and I will be informed by USCIS within 30 days.

10/02/2017: Talked with a Tier-2 officer and he informed my case was in line for oath since September 22nd, 2017.

10/10/2017: Online status changed to “Inline for Oath ceremony”

10/14/2017: Online status changed to “Oath Ceremony Letter Mailed”

11/03/2017: OATH CEREMONY!

I just came back from a 2 week trip abroad. I got an infopass appointment before my trip and got the i-551 stamp in my passport. They told me as well that all I needed was my passport to travel and to be able to come back to the USA. Being paranoid as I am I also brought my expired green card and extension letter with me. When I got back to New York they just looked at the passport and they told me that when you travel with the i-551 stamp they always have to do some extra verification so I was taken into the side room. The lady looked through my passport and checked her computer. Took an extra 5-10 minutes - then I was good to go. Wish you the best of luck.
