People have often used the 'I'm leaving my spouse/child behind' as proof of a reason to do so, when in fact, it is not a reason...why? because thousands of people have done just that...left their spouse or child behind to find something better in the US, hope to find a temporary Amcit spouse, marry, wait out the 2 years and a day, get the green card, divorce, re-marry old spouse, file a petition, etc...happens constantly...so, the COs are immune to falling for this excuse. Leaving a spouse behind, especially in some cultures, to take a trip far away to another country is frowned upon by those cultures, and often raises more questions than answers...

For example, how does (will) the CO know that your relationship hasn't hit the rocks, a divorce is looming, etc? A 'letter' from said spouse or a next door neighbor saying otherwise is worthless.

None of this speculation really helps, just apply and if you get it you get it.

Let us know how the interview goes.

Thanks for clarifying the spouse issue..

My husband doesnt want to travel and we thought it would be even better if he will not apply for the Visa with me, so my chances get better.

From your experiences do you recommend that he applies with me ??? saying that we want to travel for for christmas vacation together?? and attend the wedding? and then he should be getting back after the holiday because of his work and his master project and my university as well.

thanks again

Apply

You are making this sound like you are desperate to get a visa at any cost, if the Consulate pick up on that as well, no chance. You are applying for a visitor visa, no biggie.

If your husband doesn't want to go, then he shouldn't apply. If he does want to go, then he should apply with you. Your situation is unique and you can't base your actions on other's experiences. There doesn't seem to be another Syrian that has taken up residence in Germany and after a long while wants to attend a family member's wedding in the US that can give you suggestions.

You just need to show why you will return to Germany and that the wedding is for dates between such and such. It's up to the CO whether the husband staying/leaving is good indication of returning/negative indication of returning. You have a sort of strong case - not vaulted tight - but you have what you got and that's all you can go with.

i got rejected guys :(

the CO said i am new in Germany and i dont have enough ties.. and i could not explain alot

Could please tell me how long should a person wait till retry??

It's not a matter of how long you should wait to apply again. If nothing changes for you, the results will be the same. You have been told that you are new to Germany and you don't have enough ties. You need to work to improve your ties to Germany. Once you have more ties to Germany, you can try again. It could take you a few months or a few years to develop the ties to Germany - so no one can tell you how long.

Best of luck

You can try as often as you like, the obvious time to retry would be once you have a more confirmed status in Germany.

Millions and millions of people have entered the US and forgotten to go home is the reason.

Thank you Boiler ..

I really feel tired of this issue :( because i was 100% honest and i prepared my self very well..

Dont know why they are so hard

Getting a US visitor visa can be hard because 40% of the over 12,000,000 illegal aliens in the US arrived on visas and illegally stayed. That's approximately 4,800,000 people who abused their visas. They all said they would return home after getting their non-immigrant visas, but they didn't.

How many more do you think would abuse the visitor visa system and stay illegally if the process was easier?

If you go through this website, you will find many who are desperate for any visa to come to the US with the intent to stay until they can become legal.

These are the reasons why it's hard.

another thing to consider....apparently your parents entered the US using tourist visas, and instead of returning, as 'promised', they applied for asylum....and stayed....historically, from my own experience, once some family members become ensconced in the US via asylum, they now have a 'story' that other relatives can use to obtain asylum as well...and the track record of those who were granted B2 visas is dismal....in some of the countries in which I worked, the 'forgot to return' rate was 100%, for those who said they were just going to visit....

Since your parents did not live up the terms of a visa granted to them, the rapid assumption is that you learn from parents...and that now your parents, having perhaps weaved a story that won them asylum, now have one ready made for you to use. That's what will be going through the mind of a careful CO....before further castigating a country's laws, a country that for reasons unknown gave your parents asylum, you might think about what took place then...someone forgot to tell the truth, either when applying for a visa or upon arrival in my country....

I agree that the main reason I think i got refused for is my parents applied for asylum..but let me tell u something before starting to judge me ..

My parents visited the US several times before and on their last visit they decieded to stay, because they have lost everything back home ..its War .. and to be honest they r unhappy there to start from the scratch when they are old..and to be stuck there waiting for the case to finish... they cant leave the US and thats y I wanted to go.

When I applied for the visiter visa I did NOT lie about any thing, not a single word.. I have no hidden intentions of staying there and leave my husband and my master degree and our life in Germany! !!

Anyways, thanks for your comment and I am sure u probably feel nothing after reading this..just imagine not seeing your old parents for 2 years and then when trying to u got refused.
