Hi, I am planning to travel to Dominican Republic in few months.

I have filed my I-751 and already did biometrics.

My GC will expire in Oct 2015, and I will be traveling to Dominican Republic in Dec 2015.

I've read some threads about hassles with traveling abroad with expired green card and a extension letter.

I guess those documents are for when you RE-ENTER the States but NOT for entering the country you are traveling to.

Did anyone experience any hassles when traveling to Dominican Republic particularly while I-751 was in pending status (ie. expired Green card)? I will bring my passport, my expired green card, my extension letter, and Dominican Republic Tourist Card ($10). Would that suffice? I am scared if I get denied to get on board at the airport after I paid all the vacation hotel/flight fee.

Should I make an infopass appointment? What do I get from there? A stamp? What is this stamp for?

Thank you!!

You will be fine if you take your passport, expired GC, and the extension letter. I don't think anyone can be denied without a prior RFE or/ and an interview. We travelled to Bahamas last month and the officer did ask us to go to a separate room to check my status in the system, which took about 30 minutes. So if you have a connecting flight, make sure that you have extra time to go through the customs!
