K1 interview today- CO took passport but did not state approved or denied

My fiance had his interview at the Kingston Embassy. The CO asked him over 20 questions about me

Where do I live?

Where do I work?

How do I get to work?

What kind of car do I drive?

Do I have children? How many? How old?

What kind of work I do?

etc....

Afterwards the CO took his passport and said that she needed to find out the maximum sentence for a conviction from 3 years ago. The conviction is not on his police record just on the court documents. She said if they needed more info then they will contact him!!

Not approved or denied... What happens now????? Can any one help with this? :protest:

Sounds like they are investigating whether a conviction he has qualifies for the petty offence exception or not. If not, he would need a waiver if it's considered a CIMT.

Day 341 (12/10/18) Interview was scheduled for 1/14/19

Day 376 (1/14/19) Interview

Day 385 (1/23/19) Denied

Day 400 (2/7/19) Denial revoked; N-400 approved; oath ceremony set for 2/14/19

Day 407 (2/14/19) Oath ceremony in Dallas, TX

Yes, he had to submit documents to show the maximum penalty for his conviction. The lady who he has been working with said that we should know something by end of next week.
