I was refused a B2/B2 visa back in April 2015 . I have been for an interview at the embassy and they took all the documents they required . I have not heard anything about my visa since.

Dose anyone know of lead times on this process .

More information like your country. What did they say at interview did they give you a form and tell you to wait for reply. Every embassy is different but no one knows what country you are going through.

If you were refused then there is nothing more to say.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

i was refused entry on a ESTA hence going to the embassy for an interview. i have done this before and been accepted and nothing has changed in my personal circumstances but the procedure has changed and it seems to be taking a long time to sort.

No change I am aware of.

In the past they have issued a visa after looking into my paperwork. I have had 2 x 1 year visa and 1 x 2 year visa to travel back and forth with no restrictions. When at the interview they said i might get a 10 year visa this time but as before they send off my paperwork and wait for a reply. It has never took this long to be returned ! (close to 6 month now)

You need a waiver?

Waiver times vary 6 or 7 months seems normal.

I would be happy with any thing at the minute , it is stupid why they have to take so long , its all the same paperwork to the word they have look over the last 3 times.

Yes it all my own doing in the first place but how paranoid can they be ?

Paranoid and you would not have been referred for approval.

Despite the hype the US Government is extremely inefficient, new application same process.

I think every country is different.

My first B1/B2 visa was valid for 5 years. When I renewed it last year, they did it for 10 years. They didn't ask for any additional documents like my tax returns or anything - they said it was because of my positive background (I assume that means I never overstayed - whenever I visited the US it was for business meetings and a few vacation trips - never for more than 15 days at a time).

Please note that Brazil is a super busy embassy when it comes to tourist visas, so I guess they did not bother spending a lot of time on my case when there are a lot of people trying to commit fraud.
