And beauty pageant finalists of any country would be hot? I disagree and can name a few countries where not true but will not offend fellow members. That said, I am partially from Argentina and always thought the men were better looking than the women there, also like that in Italy. The polar opposite in Colombia and Venezuela where very attractive women date and marry very unsightly men.

I don't have television service this season, so I am watching the interview of the Israeli couple before he arrived.

I am wondering why she is saying she didn't want to live in Israel because of her career, yet can't afford their living expenses and will be living with her parents? I just find that a little selfish, but hey, I don't know their whole situation.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the mandatory military service in Israel? As a Jewish person, she's eligible for citizenship in Israel, period, but she'd have to complete the mandatory military service. I am almost positive that the same is true for anyone immigrating to Israel based on marriage, but I'm not sure if it is for citizens only or also legal residents and/or if it is even possible to be a legal resident (and not a citizen) of Israel. Things are veeeery different there.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

You have a point. However, she would be exempt as a married woman immigrant. Per Israeli MOFA.

Even if she did have to serve, which would probably jeopardize her US citizenship, she could qualify for contentious objection.

Many persons who are exempt from army service for volunteer for "Sherut Ezrachi" (Civilian Service) or National Service (Sherut Leumi). Volunteers serve the country by assisting under-privileged children and persons with disabilities, working in hospitals, schools, social-service institutions, and in various other important capacities.

Totally, he stated it had been 4 days. Did he ever consider that she's still adjusting to the time change or dealing with jet lag? So what if she slept all day?! Just because he's an early riser...did he forget she's a teenager. They sleep in late.

So true!!!!! LOL!

He seems like the "controlling older guy" type. I have only seen clips, but the way he was talking to her before she met his daughter, then pushing her towards his daughter. He seems like one of those guys that are so "nice" until you don't want to go along with what they are saying. I think he can snap quite easily.

I thought the same thing. Seems more of a father daughter relationship than husband wife.

From what I've seen Melanie has some disrespect going on to. See what this next episode brings.

Two weddings and soon three but only completed one...got cold feet on the second.

Sounds like she got her visa.

On previous shows one of the complaints was that the show never looked at what it took to get to the 90 days. Now in your situation they are showing it. The length of time and the emotional fallout from that is something I can relate to.

I noticed that, too. Most seasons seem to start at the airport arrival (if I remember correctly) and this one is showing at least a little bit of the waiting game. Anyone notice that all of these filers except the Mormon couple were TSC people? I'm wondering if these were couples who were being looked at for Season 2 but were all stuck at TSC so couldn't be part of that season because of the backlog. Or this time they purposefully chose couples who were having a long wait to focus on that part a bit.

Either way, I think it's better because it's making it seem less like "strangers have 90 days to decide to get married" and more like "established couples waiting for the clustercluck that is USCIS so they can be together". Granted, a lot of these couples STILL don't seem to be as established as most people would think is "normal" before getting married (Mormons, New Orleans, Israel come to mind immediately) but they seem to have dropped a lot of the sensationalist aspect of this.

Also, now that we're doing the 90 days. I honest to god have NO idea how people cope. We're having a great time and doing really well but I CANNOT imagine the pressure of having a camera shoved in my face/ in my home etc during all this. I never would have wanted to do this in the first place but now I literally cannot imagine. Yikes.

The young chick from the Philippines, def GC seeker imo

I was just telling my husband how disappointing this filipina girl is. She's just a lazy teenager who doesn't have to work or go to school because grandpa, wooops no, daddy, nope, hubby (cringes) got a business and got a whole lot of money.

It doesn't matter if she's still coping up with the jet lag and sleeps in, he cooks the breakfast and, come on, you see him doing chores and she just sits there doing nothing, such a lazy little girl. And then he rewards her with a car because she's bored hahahahaha! (Let's skip the part that he is weird, lol getting exact same car he gave to his ex wife).

Such a bad example for a filipina wife...

(I find the train whistle funny though, i'd definitely use that to wake up my husband just to annoy him hahahaha!)

Huh they look for couples at airports?

?? No.... but past seasons have started with "Hi I'm so and so and today I'm picking up my fiance from the airport", more or less. They showed no part of the couples living apart during the application process.
