90 Day Fiance Season 3 preview trailer, cast revealed

My biggest problem with the show is the idea that they all seem to have and repeat throughout the show that the foreign fiancées come to the US to decide if they want to get married to the USC. It's like a 90 day dating period (according to them). I was under the impression that when filing for a fiancé visa, the couple have already decided to get married, and the visa allows them to do it in the US. That is part of the requirements, no?

This drives me nuts too. The whole point is to get the beneficiary a way to cross the border so that they can get married here. This is important from a timing perspective (no green card on arrival equals faster process ) but people constantly forget that for many couples this is the ONLY way.

Same sex couples from countries where gay marriage is not legal (and/or worse, homosexuality itself is criminal), couples with prior divorces or of different religions etc. For these folks, there is no way to be legally married abroad and the K1 is their only way. Trivializing it like a "test run" is offensive (but sadly common. Even This American Life fell into this trap)

Geez Spoons you hurt my feelings! Give the Colombian American couple a chance! Its the only one that is part of the VJ community and you can talk to

The Jamaican American couple was here on VJ. Not super active and I think she's deleted her account.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

Just having fun with the blog LionessDeon but I like the comments because their more educated on the subject we deal with, I love VJ for the support and resources it offers and the members involved. And definately agree with CatherineA, I dated my fiancee for two years and lived a year in Colombia plus another 6 months stay, so the idea of going through was not based on US trial run but hopefully they will show that but not sure.

Im not one to judge an age gap because have a significant one with my fiancee but never sought to look for someone so much younger, did want someone younger but definately did not search for a teenager. Met my fiancee when she was 19 and she is now 22...when I met her parents, I worried that they would frown on the relationship and thought it might be awkward but had no issues with the parents about age.

That said, I have now seen very succesful relationships with major age gaps and now even think it may be a positive in some situations. I know there are statistics out there but cannot recall details.

Since the first season, if you look closely at each couple, each person has some kind of issue. The most common one is insecurity (especially by the USC's), sometimes looks like desperation.

Lol i cant wait to see the girl's face when he told her about the car...

My point exactly. Inappropriate maybe? Apparently, he doesn't see this.

I havent seen the other seasons. I still cant move on about her being a teenager though. When i was her age i know i wasnt ready to settle down and immature...

I think it is great to have a current vj member on the show. I love to hear the inside scoop.

Watched the second episode last season and I had to laugh at Kyle? who said he would do everything to keep her happy 100% of the time. Is it even possible with anyone?

Posted (edited)

The Mormon family will be fun to watch, they just seem like they have a huge stick up their azz and their former stripper daughter-in-law should fit right in there.

The cry baby with the cockroaches all over his apartment seems like he's got some issues too.

The old guy with the young Filipina leaving pictures of his ex all over the house. Oops!

And Loren, the NYC chick, she seems like a mess, a big cry baby, and desperate. Moves to Florida because she can't support her future husband on her salary. This seems to be a common theme among many of these couples. Same here on VJ. People don't seem to think about finances when they make these decisions to bring over another person. I always found that strange. The whole thing about Co-sponsors on the financial side should not be allowed. If you can't meet the minimum poverty level, you should not be bringing over anybody.

Also, they keep showing a Colombian girl coming to the what looks like Gary Dell'Abate's fatter twin brother, but they never have any segments on them. Weird.

We know that Mohammad was a GC play last year. Any early predictions on GC players this year? I don't know but the guy from Israel seems shady for some reason.
