hello all,

First of all thanks to all, I am now sat in Hawaii next to my wonderful beautiful fiancé about to get married tomorrow after the long K1 journey and an easy POE into the states.

I have a question about addresses as we will be filing for AOS soon after honeymoon.

We are living in CA. We used her parents address as our living address on our de-160 etc but now we have got our own apartment/cottage (annexed onto a large house/property from the family we are renting from) so want to use that as our address however we cannot use it as our postal address due to the family that own the property having it as their business address

My question or possible solution; could we use our address as our living address but use a "care of address" for all our postal correspondence? this could be her parents address or we could rent a PO box?

What do you think?

Thanks

Rob

As long as you can receive the mail from the parents house in a reliable, timely manner, then I don't see why it should be a problem.

On the I-485 there is a place in the address section to list an 'in care of'. The I-864 asks for a mailing address. I would list the actual residence address on your G-325A where it asks for that though.

You could also include a statement to explain your reasoning for using a separate mailing address, perhaps even just a short mention of it on your cover letter.
