Should I update NEXUS or wait for plastic green card

The immigrant visa on my passport is only good for one year. I do not want to make multiple trips to NEXUS office. It defeats the whole purpose of using fast NEXUS lanes anyways if you have to keep going there again and again.

Would the plastic green card have different numbers than the immigrant visa in passport?

You cannot update NEXUS until you have your greencard. The NEXUS office won't take any approval notifications.

The stamped visa on passport which is good for full year. Not approval notification.

I did call NEXUS office, and they suggested I go there after getting the plastic green card. But I can still use NEXUS lane.

By the way, how do I track it on USCIS? I used the number I use to pay my fees on ELIS system on https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.dobut it didn't recognize that number.

You will have to wait until you get your I-797 Notice of Action (NOS) from USCIS. It will have a receipt number on it. Put that receipt number into the box and click on check status.

Just a word of advice sometime the system will show that they cannot your case. Do not be alarmed if that happens. If you receive an NOS from USCIS it means that they have your case.

It's been over a month. I never received I-797 Notice of Action (NOS).

How long does that usually take?

Never mind. You seem adjustment of status person, not consular processing.

I just actually finished my Removal of Conditions actually and you may want to post that question in the Canada forum
