Covered in tattoos too, no issues.

The only time a tattoo is a problem is if the design is or could be construed as a gang symbol,, because of the criminal connection there.

Incorrect

Petitioner is from Philippines, If you are covered in tattoos then you will probably do secondary medical for a evaluation.

If in Philippines covered up in tats would suggest person if female is a bar girl

IF you have one or two tattoos then you should be ok

IF you have a lot of tattoos then you will probably have to do a secondary Medical exam, Phychological Evaluation to determine if you were a former prostitute.

If determined you were a former bar girl then you would have lifetime ban from USA due to Moral Turpitude..

I have a full-back tattoo (Thai inspired), ankle tattoos (koi fish with a lotus on each ankle) and the birthdays of my 2 children on each of my wrists. Didn't pose a threat during my medical exam though.

Interesting

My fiancé had tats and had to do secondary.

Do you have kids that are part of the petition?

It is very rampant in the Philippines to get tattooed practically anywhere or anyone and not from legal tattoo shops where everything is sterilized. Some tattoo shops can post a risk of blood borne diseases. I think that's one reason why they do secondary medicals. Psych Evals are done if doctors deem that you are psychologically unstable. Your choice of a tattoo may determine this or the way you act and you answer questions also. If you're a bar girl you'd get a lifetime ban? I don't know how true that is but if it was that is harsh. That's so self limiting and irrational for me.

I think you'll be ok with having a tattoo that's, how should I put it?, not socially threatening? :P

I have a lot of tats and never had any problems during the medical (only question asked was the meaning of them)... and not sure about the connection of being a bar girl when you have tats...

Fiance in Training

What is your age range?

The kids are following so not as of the moment. Age range early 20's. Didn't have a secondary though. I think it depends. The doc asked me some questions about them though; an explanation for each one.

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Read a thread within the last week, where a man was turned down (cannot remember the country) for a "gang member" tattoo.

There was information, that the processing people, have s significant record, of pictures of tattoo's and if any of them are "gang related."

Just posting from memory, and its not as good as it used to be.,.hahahha!
