Ahmed and I are looking for a mosque in or near Fort Worth. Does anyone else live nearby have a mosque to recommend? We did a little hunting on our own and found one in Richardson, but when we went to visit Sunday it wasnt quite what we were expecting.

My husband has been to the mosque in Richardson and he loved it, loved the Imam there. There's also a big one in Plano but I dont have any first hand experience with it. I dont know much about the Ft Worth area. There are a ton of Muslims in DFW though, my sister at one point sent me a Muslim Yellow Pages listing all the Muslim owned and Muslim friendly businesses. My family is all in the DFW area and we love going there to visit a few times a year because of all the great Halal restaurants and groceries. I'll ask my sister where she picked up that yellow pages :)

Im in the DFW area. I know of one mosque in Arlington (right next to a Krogers) off of I-30 and Cooper and another one in Irving - Valley View and 183. You can't miss the one in Irving..it's brand new and huge (has a green top/roof).

Palestine the world's largest open air prison

the mosque in Richardson was among the very first to be established and has grown from a small small building to the huge one it is now and was recently renovated and its gorgeous... its the main mosque for north texas not just dfw area... I don't know what you guys were expecting to see, the only other one that can compare in my opinion is the new one in Irving

The mosque in Richardson was lovely, but I think Ahmed was dissapointed because no one but the Imam spoke Arabic. Perhaps it was a little too much culture shock, who knows.

And thanks bosco for the links.

I picked up a copy of these yellow pages at the Jasmine Cafe and at the Sara Bakery in Richardson (two different years), but probably any business that caters to Muslims while carry it.

These are near my house, so if you can't find one near you . . . let me know and I can get one for you.

Coolness, thanks for this tip. I got some addresses for Arabic grocery stores this week, so Ill see if they carry the Yellow Pages when we go to visit. If they dont have it, Ill definitely give you a buzz. :)

Salam All :)

my favorite mosque in DFW is the one in Plano, for many reasons:

first we got married there.

Second, the Imam is fluent in both English(he is from England), and Arabic

Third, the mosque is very diverse, and neat :)

Here is the web site http://www.planomasjid.org/dev/

if your husband want more info let me know

Here is a link to all the Mosque locations in the DFW area:

DFW Mosques

I attend the mosque in Carrollton whenever I get the time to drive out there, I am closer to Richardson but the Richardson mosque population has gotten so huge that I do prefer Carrollton.

In the link above, there is one in Tarrant County (Ft Worth) I haven't attended there, but it is worth checking out if you're in the Ft Worth area.

I LOVE sara's bakery
