Unfortunately I didn't read the instructions for the i751 early enough and didn't commingle things back when we first got married. They have all been commingled in the past few months (as we were preparing for this process). Now I'm nervous that they will send us a RFE because they will think we don't have sufficient evidence. I'm planning to send the package tomorrow...

We have:

Joint account with nationwide bank (since marriage but very rarely used - more of a savings account for emergencies)

Joint account with local bank (for the past few months)

Joint health insurance (since marriage)

Beneficiaries on health, life, retirement, etc. (for the past few months)

Affidavits from next door neighbors (since marriage)

Affidavit from my direct supervisor (since marriage)

We don't have:

Joint lease/mortgage (my parents and I own the property 50/50 and have for years and would have to refinance - which we just did before my husband came to the states - which is not necessary at this time - my husband does contribute to the equity though)...we did include a letter stating this

Joint car insurance (my husband walks to work and has never had a need for a driver's license)

Lengthy statements from bank accounts that we share

Joint credit cards...he's been denied credit cards because he doesn't have credit (he's an authorized user on one card)

A will (was told that it would cost $600 when we have very few assets...we'd rather use the money for a vacation!)

Anyone ever have an experience like this? This process has been very easy for us so far..and now I'm super nervous. Thanks!

Do not forget to attach Tax returns and W-2's etc. that is a must have

And a few dated pics (one each from the years we have been married) and tickets and itinerary from a trip to Alaska that we took this past June. Just no lengthy bank statements and beneficiaries that have been changed recently...I didn't realize how much/what they would need for a removal of conditions. I should have known after experiencing the i129/k1 paperwork. :)

- You can create a will online such as legalzoom.com. It's quicker and at a fraction of the price you'd do with a lawyer.

- Since you'll be including tax transcripts, there's no need to include tax returns or W2s. Include the last two years worth of tax transcripts.

- As for credit cards, you can still include those even if spouse is an authorized user. What matters is that the credit card numbers are the same.

- Your husband can get a state ID from the DMV in place of a driver's license. It's just as valid and useful except that he can't drive with a state ID. Government IDs are valuable for daily life as well as for removal of conditions.

The State ID from the DMV is a very good idea. That way, you can photocopy both your driver's licence and his State ID and it will show that you are living at the same address. Since you don't have a lease with both of your names on it, having both "IDs" with the same address can help.

He does have a learners permit. I added a copy of that and my drivers license along with copies of our health insurance cards and our joint credit cards. Thanks for the suggestions everyone! The package has been sent. I will look into the will while we wait just in case we get a RFE. Now we wait!

Even if you have transcripts W-2's can't hurt if you have them and they have the same address for each of you. It's more useful for the address than anything else with tax transcripts.

For the credit card added him as authorized user, did they ask for SS # when you added him? Or, does it show separate charges for each authorized user? I added my wife to my AE card when we got married and they asked for her SS #. Her charges appear separate from mine on the statement which shows us both using the card.

I guess not really super important. But it's strange he wasn't able to get a credit card. When I first got here I was able to get a student credit card with a low credit limit, without any credit history
