Congrats on your upcoming interview- you'll be fine!

I was in such shock that we got the early interview date and the fact we didn't have all the documents ready, meant I knew we wouldn't be approved on the spot and I was actually fairly relaxed. Don't get me wrong, I was still nervous and gave my left hand when they asked for my right hand lol

I was an 1115am interview which is one of the last for the day which was good as I didn't have a full room listening to the conversation. I was asked a few standard questions - where did we meet, how often had we seen each other since originally meeting (4 times in past 14 months) and then he asked about our engagement, the CO phrased the question "do you remember your engagement" ... I smiled and laughed, replying "of course I do"... And when I told him about it he exclaimed "so it was in Aust" and I said yes it was... So not sure if it was an attempt to trick me, but he was very pleasant.

They didn't view my resume or any of our photos.

Let us know how you go ?

So happy it all went well for you. (lol at you holding up your left hand, something i'd do)

I tend to get a lil tongue tied when im nervous so I just hope that doesn't happen at my interview.

My medical is booked for the day before my interview so unless they give me my results to take to the interview im not expecting to get approval straight away either. How was your medical? Was it pretty straight forwards?

I received the same email as you did from the consulate, once I replied I got my interview date.

Yep, got my interview date today! Our NOA2 date is the same, but my interview is one month later, Nov. 20th. Looks like NVC processing times can make a big difference. It's no big deal though, not leaving til Jan and I could do with the extra prep time. Will book my medical tomorrow!

P.S - another Eric going to PA. Small world, huh?!

I went to my local medical centre to get my Tetanus shot and get a blood test to check for immunity for MMR, and also had the flu vaccination ( spread out over a few days so I didn't feel like a pin cushion hehe). On the day of my US medical my records for the above were accepted but they still needed to do a blood test for syphilis (this is standard- the test I had done at the medical centre is different to the one the US embassy requires). I then had to go to the X-ray clinic to get the TB xray done (same day).

The DR gave me back a copy of the immunisation form she completed but on reviewing it at home later that night, I noticed an error. She had written N/A in the column for the flu vaccination. In Aust it is flu season up until 31 October; so if I didn't pick up on that error it would have been picked up by the consulate and caused a delay- so I went back first thing the next morning and told them and they fixed it up the following day once they had the xray results and notified me in email that my package was being sent to the Consulate and they attached the updated vaccination form in that email.

When I got the new earlier interview date I took a chance in calling medibank even though they were no longer appearing on the approved list. Medibank advised they could fit me in the last week that they had approvals to handle the US Medicals. The DR was lovely but the stress I experienced re her error filling out the form and the rudeness of the receptionist meant overall it was not a good experience - but given they are no longer on the list nobody else will have to go through what I did!

Just FYI they do an inspection "undies off"- it's just a quick visual and not intrusive- only took a few seconds.

Thanks for that Ausa,

I haven't had the flu shot only because last time it made me so sick, so hoping they wont make me get one.

Im going to the George Street medical centre, ive heard good things about them, hoping every thing will go smoothly.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

I'm having issues trya pay this visa fee and they don't seem to like to answer emails to offen so im kinda a bit lost at the moment at what to do but hey ill figure it out.

1 month-ish. I heard from the consulate on 8th October, responded promptly, got my interview for 20th November. Worked out fine though - the soonest medical I could get in Sydney was November 6th.

Sydney received my paperwork from NVC today, still waiting on the packet 3 so I can get it all moving along. Sydney told me I have to wait for an email from them once they receive... So waiting as always. My nearest, board approved, medical centre is down in Brisbane and they won't allow booking of Immigration medical until we have a date from consulate :(

Oh I need to organise my Tetanus shot too...

I'm mentally ready to be with my lady, so this waiting... sheeeeee.. I know you all can relate....

I still have to sell my business, probably be listed for sale locally next week... hoping for a quick sale, business is pumping, so whoever takes over will hit the ground running.

Then sorting out my 'stuff', almost tempted to call charity to bring a truck or 3 and take the darned lot.. too much baggage from the past....

Anyhow, each step in the process helps me to advance.... Big Wheels Keep on Turning..........

It's crazy how tense the build up to the interview is isn't it- it's almost an anti-climax lol.

Definitely stay in touch- we actually just got back from philadelphia - it has such a great vibe, we are considering moving there - no firm plans yet, we are still in the daydreaming stage, just so happy being together for good now.

Good luck with organising everything for your move and the time will fly- before you know it you'll be here.
