I thought this might be useful, these are the instructions from the Yaounde embassy for the K-1 interview:

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Consular Section has received a petition from the Immigration and Naturalization Service entitling you to a K-1 (fiance(e)) non-immigrant visa classification as an alien proceeding to the United States to marry an American under the provisions of section 101(a)(15)(K) of the Immigration and Nationality Act - as amended. In order to prepare for your interview appointment with the Consular Officer, please read and follow carefully the instructions below.

1. Fill out the DS-160 online application available at https://ceac.state.gov/GENNIV and make sure you print out the confirmation page and bring it with you on the day of your interview. This is also required for each applicant, if you are applying with children.

2. Passport(s): Each applicant must have a valid passport to travel to the United States. The passport must have at least six months validity beyond the issuance date of the visa. Obtain a photocopy of the biodata page of the passport.

3. Photograghs: Obtain two color passport size photographs (50x50mm) for each applicant. The photographs must show each applicant’s full face without a head covering, against a white background.

4. Birth Certificates: Bring the original birth certificates and two photocopies for yourself and any children eligible to apply with you.

5. Marriage Certificate: If you were married previously, obtain a copy of your marriage certificate and a copy of the divorce or death certificate to prove the dissolution of the each prior marriage.

6. Certificate of Non-Conviction: You must also obtain a certificate of non-conviction for you and each accompanying child over the age of 16. In Cameroon, the certificate is issued by the High Court, not by the police. If you have resided outside Cameroon continuously for a year or more, you should obtain a police report from the country of residence.

7. Evidence of Support: Have your fiance submit an affidavit of support using Form I-134 (available at: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-134.pdf). The recent yearly income tax returns (generally 1040/W2) should be attached.

8. Medical Report / Examination: Arrange for a medical examination with any of our panel physicians. The report will either be conveyed directly to the embassy or handed over to you for onward submission in a sealed envelope. A medical examination is also required for each minor child who will be applying to accompany you to the United States.

9. Evidence of Relationship: You have to submit secondary evidence that establishes a bona fide relationship with your petitioner (fiance). Bring with you documents such as photographs together, emails, letters, phone records, evidence of financial support such as western union receipts, and any other items/documents to prove your relationship to the petitioner.

10. Application Fee: The application fee is $265 per applicant. The fee (or its CFA equivalent) should be paid in cash on the day of interview. You may call the embassy on (237)2220-1603 to confirm the prevailing exchange rate.

11. You should bring all of the above documents, including the confirmation sheet(s) of the DS-160 with you on the day of your interview appointment.

12. Obtaining an Appointment: You may email us on: consularyaounde@state.gov or call us on 2220-1603 to request an appointment for interview (make sure you include your case number and case type in any email communications with us).

I would really like to hear about anybody's experiences relating to interviews or questions during the interview.

Hello!

First of all, I excuse for my English which is far from correct, I hope that I you will understand me anyway.

Thanks for this information, it gave me answers to some questions that I'd just ask.

I saw that you are Cameroon, that is why I hope you get items to help me in my questioning.

I have a question and I would really like to have answers.

I hired a K1 folder with my fiance in September. We received approval 2 weeks ago.

I am blocked a upgraded NOA2 reception.

The evidence that I see relate to living persons in countries such as the France, the Germany, the Belgium... Country where the post office works well, they receive their "packet 3" by mail.

I live in Cameroon, and I haven't given a postal address by sending the file.

Which means that I don't have to wait to receive these instructions.

My question is, how?

How do I know that my file is already at the Embassy of Cameroon? Can use me instructions that I see on the internet? If so, why in your description I do not see the sheets such as DS-2001 as I see everywhere?

If you can direct me, greatly thanks!

Thank you so much for all of this information that you have posted! I really can't thank you enough it has answered some very important questions I've had. Also could you possibly give me the information on the physician like name and location please? Also when do you set up the appointment with the physician? When you receive your packet 3?

Do you know what vaccinations you need when applying for adjustment of status and how much they are so he can get them at his medical exam?

No one answered my question, so I will post answer incase anyone else has the same question. If your Cameroonian fiance (beneficiary) is applying for the k1 visa, they can apply in whatever country they are living in, provided they have legal right/proof. So a work or student visa holding Cameroonian in Canada would do their interview in Canada for the K1 visa.

Good luck to everyone! :0) Du Courage!

Hello Jamnsol,

You don't know how much reading this has helped me. My fiance's status has shown "Ready" for interview for more than a week. It sends us to a link that takes us nowhere. Emails are not answered and calls don't go through. February 16 is the last date he has to go to the embassy. Some guy told us the embassy will send us an interview  date. I have to go online right away and send them an email.

So, tell me. When I send the email,  should I tell them a date I want the interview  or, will they give me different dates to choose from? Please, I need your help. Please.  I have been searching  visajourney  and Cameroon to find the answer to my problem. Thanks in advance.
