Hello,

I have a restaurant in NYC and I am looking to sponsor a french person to be one of the chef. My lawyer said it would be a problem. (E2) But the cost is pretty high...

I have a question..

The french chef is already in the US.. On the form i-129 http://www.uscis.gov/i-129it says that If the desired employee is currently in the United States in a lawful nonimmigrant status, the qualifying employer may file Form I-129 on the employee’s behalf.

Does that mean that I can change his status within the US ?

What would be the step to make the entire folder for e2 employee ? Does the website have any step by step information for it ?

Not really, they are handle by Company Immigration Lawyers, so no real need.
