Does anyone here have Optimum Voice through Cablevision? I use their World Call service to call my fiance and I've just been told that I cannot get detailed bills that show the (many)hours that we have spent on the phone since July. They say that it has to be subpoenaed and then it costs $125. It only occurred to me recently that since I switched from regular phone service to their phone service in July that I have not gotten a phone bill, it's just a line item on my Cablevision bill.

I don't know what to do because it's the only way that I can show contact between us since I filed. I have used a phone card a couple of times since then, but there's not way of getting a record to show where phone cards called. We don't speak via internet, we haven't exchanged any letters since June.

Has anyone had this experience with a phone company?

I have unlimited calls to the UK and it also shows as a generic line item on my bill. I sent a copy of a bill but I dont think it will prove a thing. Is it too late to write love letters?

You only really need to provide evidence that you have met in the last two years. You can supply a copy of your bill and write an explanation on it, since there is not breakdown. Not a big deal.

What are sms? Text messages? Yes, I send those, but not often. I will provide the cell phone bills to show that. But that's only once or twice a week at most. My phone records would show hours of conversation, an hour and more at a time.

But don't I have to show proof on ongoing relationship since I sent in the 129? I have not been back to see him since the first time we met, all we have are phone calls.

My recommendation would be to give your company another call. You may have ended up with a bitter employee that was just lazy and gave you the run around. Call again and nicely ask for a listing of all calls (dont tell them why you need it, just that you do)

No, I don't think so. The woman spoke to her supervisor, and the supervisor is supposed to be calling me back, because somebody needs to tell me the reason for this policy. I've never dealt with a phone company before that does not provide call information, especially long distance, on their bills.

Wrong. You need to show evidence of an ongoing relationship since the initial filing of the petition.

Its kind of like bringing all the originals to the interview when they rarely look at them. The proof of the ongoing relationship is sent to the beneficiary for the interview. If they ask for it ya better have it lol.

I wasn't asked for anything, which is good, he was more concerned about the finanical side, lol.

For the original OP, I just don't think its going to be a big deal about the phone record. Proof is good to have, indeed but phone records can be a pain to obtain it seems.

Thanks. I wonder if it is a problem that we have only seen each other one time. I have seen that mentioned as a problem for other people.

For the I-129F intial submission, you do not need to show proof of an ongoing relationship, only that you have met in the last two years. However for the visa interview, you may have to show evidence of an ongoing relationship.
