Timeline

I am sorry but I do not get the point of the entire conversation. If, according to you, Houston is well behind of its formal timeline, then every person whose case is outside of the formal timeline, should proceed with filing all possible formal requests regardless of the fact that the USCIS timeline is "lying." I have read the stories on this forum as to how such requests work. Of course, not in every case but, hey, dealing with the USCIS is a big lottery.

As to my case, you are absolutely correct, formally my case is still within Denver Office's formal timeline; yet, factually, it appears to become behind of such timeline, since people after me received their interviews. Everyone chooses own battles. I choose active contact of the USCIS. It worked for other VJ members, including those whose timelines were close to actual USCIS local office's timeline, rather than formal. I hardly can say that when a persons contacts USCIS and gets notification of the interview in a couple of days is barely a coincidence.

But all does not help you at all, even you did Ombudsman and contact Congressman, they won't help your AOS case speed up. And one more thing is so important is your case is still at NBC as well. Once your case is at local office you will be got the interview notice. Looks like your case still is normal time frame, they are processing Jan and you are in March but I agree with you that do not trust their timeframe (it is incorrect one that they released to public). And your case is belong the officers who is handling your case, some is very quick and easy, others is picky and slow as well just belong to your luck bro.

------

I-130 (as part of IR-5 process) - USCIS (Nebraska Service Center)

06/09/14 - sent I-130

06/14/14 - NOA 1

11/14/14 - NOA 2 (5 months)

AOS (Local Office: Denver)

03/24/15 - AOS packet sent via USPS Priority Mail (I-485, I-765 & I-131 w/ approved I-130)

03/26/15 - package delivered according to USPS website

04/01/15 - email notifying the AOS package has been received

04/02/15 - an AOS fee withdrawn from a bank account

04/09/15 - received hard copies of all three NOAs (NOAs dated 04/01/15)

04/28/15 - Biometrics

05/08/15 - online status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

05/18/15 - online status changed to I-765 approved-wait the card in the mail (no change for I-131) (80 days)

05/19/15 - received EAD/AP in the mail

05/28/15 - online status changed to "As of June 28, case is ready to be scheduled for an interview." This is the second time of such change since 05/08/15.

07/05/15 - online status changed to "As of July 5, case is ready to be scheduled for an interview." How many times are they going to update that status, I wonder?

12/18/15 - still waiting!!! For almost 9 months now (261 days from AOS NOA, 234 days from Biometrics).

01/14/16 - submitted "out-of-normal processing time" inquiry and called USCIS that stated the case is still at NBC and "inquiry" should answer why there is such delay.

01/15/16 - 294 days since the AOS was received by the USCIS; 262 days from the biometrics.

01/28/16 - [day 309] received response to case status inquiry (processed on 01/23/15) - "your case is waiting to be scheduled for interview," so wait another 90 days [sigh].

02/21/16 - [day 332] interview scheduled for 03/24/16 [363 days from the receipt of petition].

02/24/16 - [day 363] AOS interview. Approval on the spot.

Houston isn't behind it's formal timeline at this point - it is behind the posters forecasted timeline. Cody and two other Houston filers are ~1 week away from the formal timeline published as of the end of November and have yet to even receive the interview notice. Unfortunately, you have to wait for your case to pass the formal published timeline before an inquiry is effective.

Honestly, for all we know this is correct. I don't see any timelines with interviews past the formal date. In theory, limited staffing in December, high application volumes in May and a possible focus on other application types could be causing the delay...

Henry,

Wake up, I have a few friends at another forrm ***removed*** with PD early in May and still on wait.

1, PD is April 30 - got scheduled for Dec but later they cancelled his interview in Dec.

2, PD is May 1 - still waiting

3, PD is May 7 - still waiting

4. PD is 56 May - still waiting

5.PD is 27 May - still waiting

6. PD is 12 May - still waiting

7. Mine PD 2 June - still waiting

Some did several inquiries and the letter stated Houston do not have enough available spots to set up their interviews.

My attorney told me her clients with PD in April most scheduled for early Jan 2016, she do not have any clients with May PD is scheduled.

My wild guess is start Feb 2016 they will mail the notice for May and march for June and April for July. This means Henry will hear something in April and your interview will be on May in case they do not have more backlog.

Users don't put their local office on that site so I am not sure how to view Houston filers. If anyone is past the formal guidelines they should be writing their congressmen attaching their NOA1 and the USCIS processing time notice!

I am in no rush - as long as it comes before my AP/EAD expire. The only real advantage of the GC is no AP processing when entering US and gun ownership.

Someone needs to drive up there not for an info session but to see if they are interviewing couples and also ask those couples about their priority dates at least one it will give us the peace of mind because this waiting game is getting absurd . I'm not even in the USA and I'm stressed out

just throwing it out there. :ranting:

Good news and Bad news

The good news is that we have an update from someone on a different forum that had an infopass on Feb 1st and the bad news is that IO said they are only scheduling interviews for citizenship and might start scheduling GC interviews 2nd or 3rd week in Feb, so more wait time for everyone.

but don't hold your breathe
