So I had my AOS interview earlier today in the El Paso Texas field office. My appointment was at 12.35pm, we got there 35 mins early, went through the normal security checks and finally landed in the waiting where there was a couple already waiting. Several other couples arrived and the waiting room was really occupied. I felt a little bit under dressed coz most of the guys came in suits and shirts, I was in a T-shirt and a Jean coz I had to go for a morning class (I'm on F1, 2nd year masters student in utep). My name was was called by an Hispanic lady in her early or late 30's by her look. She walked us into her office, swore us in and we had a seat.

She started by going through my file verifying the biographic information. She asked me how my wife and I started explaining and she was shocked that my wife and hi met online in February and got married in may. I gave some valid reasons why the time is not really an issue and she seemed convinced coz she was smiling all the way.

She asked about her kids (2 from previous marriage), their date of birth, their school, who drop and pick them up, my wife's job, my job, whether her parents like me. I gave her all answers to these questions. Then she asked me the yes/no questions on the i485. At this point, I was a little hopefull I would get approved on the spot coz she was really friendly and we even joked about some of our pictures she saw in the album I went with.

She then told us about the conditions of the conditional green card and about the ROC and handed me a paper saying case is being held for review and that uscis does not require any further information.

She said she needed to do a background check that once that's done, I'll get a decision. I just hope this does not take long.

These are the documents I went it to show bona-fide marriage:

Bank verification letter from Wells Fargo and bank of america.

Four months bank statements from both banks showing joint name.

4 months credit card statement

Auto and health insurance show both name under the same policy

Sam's Club membership cards under same account

Wet and wild season passes

Verification of income from employer and paystubs for past 4 months.

Picture album

Does anyone know how take it takes to get a decision at the stage?

Had my AOS interview October 5th, been married for 14 years with 3 kids with my US citizen husband. My case is being held for review also. She didn't take my EAD/AP and my i94 also but I gave a copy of it in the packet. You should be alright. Have u had any updates lately? I guess I won't know til after 4 weeks, hopefully it's not gonna take 3 months. Good luck and keep me posted???

Thanks I appreciate. Actually I got updated about green card production the following morning. I already have the welcome And i-130 approval notice but my green card is yet to arrive. Hopefully it arrives this week, I don't know what's causing the delay coz it's been 15 days since I got updated about green card production.

Ohh that's a setback but I hope you get approval soon. I'm on the waitING game still. It's now been 3 weeks I still haven't seen my card. I called uscis and they said I'll need to give them 60 days and after then I can call if I don't receive it. I hope it gets here soon coz alot of things depend on the card.
