Planning to travel while Green card has been lost before getting deliverred

Everyone,

I lost my green card in transit. I had conditional green card, and i filed all documents, it was approved but before getting into my hand, it was lost.

Now, I filed agian, paid 450$, had my bio appointment done as well. and will wait for new GC

but in mean time, I want to travel from US to India, with stopover at Dubai for 2-3 days.

I already took appointment to federal office, for temporary status on my passport.

but how does it work with other countries? will that be problem if I show that to airport in India?

what about Dubai/Abu Dhabi when I go there?

what do i need to do ?

Why did you pay the fee for the I-90 if you never received it?

If you are filing Form I-90 because you never received your Permanent Resident Card (Green Card), you do not have to pay a filing fee as long as you meet these criteria:

• We mailed the card over 30 days ago;
• It was returned to us as undeliverable; and
• You have not moved from the address you provided us

Do you mean you received the I-551 stamp? It should not be a problem because you'll only need it when entering the US and they will recognize the stamp as a temporary proof of permanent resident status.

if its lost in transit, I have to pay the fees.

its done, so not worried about the fees.

Now, I have an appointment scheduled at Federal building first week of next month.

Dint get much information on what will I get after that appointment. I think I'll receive I-551 stamp.

I will need that when entering in US. but what for India and Dubai?

While boarding a flight, will I-551 stamp be enough for me to fly back from India or entering Dubai etc?

I'm guessing this is an infoPass appointment. This is where you will get the I-551 stamp in your passport.

Yes, it will be sufficient to prove that you are a permanent resident of the US. I also suggest carrying your I-90 receipt notice and biometrics notice to prove that you will be receiving the actual green card soon since it was misplaced and just to be on the safe side.

Why? If the mail carrier loses the mail the green card holder is responsible for the fee?

that's how the i-90 requierment states

if lost, stolen, misplaced, we pay 450

until unless, USPS accepts that its their mistake, which i doubt they do
