So it can actually be good to overstay before AOS?

But wont the school contact the government and have people deported if illegal criminals' children are attending school?

I did not had any problem with my daughter attending schools here even if we OVERSTAYED, and the school dont have to contact the government BECAUSE I AM NOT A CRIMINAL, I did not engaged myself to any criminal acts!

As a matter of fact, my daughter graduated from middle school last June with an academic award!!!

No, you're right it's a civil offence to overstay which does make it more and more difficult for others from your home country to obtain non immigrant visas.

Not to answer the previous question: no, schools are not required to report illegals.
