Good afternoon. My husband's visa was refused today at Ciudad Juarez. He was given the very unwanted blue sheet. He has to do form I- 601. Does anyone know how long this takes? Any recommendations?

I will appreciate your response as I am feeling so bummed right now.

My husband tried to cross to the US back in 1998 with a different visa, since he had lost his like two years before that. At the interview he was asked and he told them the truth. He told them back then he was immature and had no idea that one day he would marry someone from the US and have a baby born in the US.

Interviewer asked himif he used a different name that time he tried crossing, he said yes. Interviewer told him she had bad news and good news for him...... Bad news was of course the blue sheet... And good news is that all he needs to do is that I 601.

So he tried to enter the US with fraudulent documents and has been slapped with a misrepresentation charge?

Waivers take about 6 months, but first you need a waiver package to submit.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

The waiver package is a lot more than a form, now it will vary from case to case but they can be very sizable, hundred of pages.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

If you ever live with him in Mexico your atty will argue in his brief that

you could not work, the medical care was substandard, you could not

help your family here in the US financially nor physically...If at the child

bearing age he can say you don't want to be there for a birth & the educational

level is beneath the US, so moving there is a grave hardship.

Crime stats, and why you need your hubby in the US, this is a doable case

just be sure the atty have done waivers before...good luck

Thank you all for your help.

Jawaree.and Transborderwife.. yes I used to live in Mexico with him before. Honestly, we want our son's school education to be here in the US for many reasons, hopefully a lawyer can find the right words for us. For one, I understand school system here in the US... I would be able to help him out here with homework...etc.

Another thing is we have been married by Church since July 2008. We didn't get married legally until 2013, because we thought we had to get married here in the US for it to count. Until we found out it's as good as getting married here. Do you guys think this will help?...I have all kinds of evidence.

And then we filed the I-130 until we had money for it in September 2013.
