Admin Processing - Need another cospsonor

So my fiance had his interview today and everything went perfect, except the CO told him that he needs to find another cosponsor, that there wasn't enough money there. He said everything else was fine and good, just the financial side of things.


I currently am unemployed and so we used my mom as a cosponsor.

Our evidence for my mom's income were:
This most recent years tax return
W2
Employer letter
Paystubs



She makes 24,000$ this year not including bonuses (bonus will make it 27,000$), last year she made 22,000$ according to her tax return and W2 and has no dependents. My fiance has no children, so as far as I know, she only needs to make 19,912$ a year which she clearly makes over.

She would only be supporting my fiance, she does not support me.

We're not really understanding why they want us to get another cosponsor. My fiance said the CO's exact words were "There's just not enough money here" and to find another cosponsor.


My fiance isn't sure if maybe they think she's supporting me or something and maybe that's causing an issue, but she doesn't. I see her once every few months for a birthday maybe.


Any advice as to what we should do? I'm not entirely sure I can find another cosponsor, we're not sure why they didn't accept her as a cosponsor. If they think she's supporting me is there any way to contact them to let them know she's not, or do we just have to try to find another cosponsor and pretend like she doesn't make enough?

Maybe because the CO thinks that since you're unemployed and your fiance will be a new immigrant, your mother will have to support both of you bringing the household size to 3 and just a bit shy of the poverty guidelines.

They actually don't care how many times you see your co-sponsor, they just want to be sure that if needed that person can support you and the applicant not be a financial burden to the state/government. That was my understanding when we did our paperwork which by the way, I had to get a co-sponsor and I made about $27,000 per year. Hope you find someone else to co-sponsor you. Good luck!!

Luckily my dad's going to talk to my grandparents who make 60000, no dependants.

They get pension and social security along with working.

So would their proof be

Tax return for the past year
W2
Proof of pension (What is this exactly?)
Proof of Social Security (Awardance letter?)
Letter of Employment
Paystubs



Does that sound like enough?




Also, they did not keep his passport. Does he need to send in his passport when he sends these documents via courier? The paper is vague, but we're assuming that he sends his passport along with all the above proof.
