You described the situation in your original post and asked for inputs. You got inputs, nothing racist, just cold, hard facts as inputs.

Views expressed are similar to those the Consular Official will consider as background while reviewing your (potential) application. As you stated, "..thanks to those freaking nutjob for blowing it up for everybody else.." ..those previous overstayers have made things difficult for others who genuinely wish to visit the US for short stays.

Wow. I lot of really judgemental and racist reply there.

First of all, I am not going to the US to find a job as my life here in the PH is completely going well. Why would I give up being a well off entrepreneur and be someone else's babysitter for a freaking green card? My cousin's in the US doesn't need babysitting, THEY'RE GROWN UP PEOPLE.

Second, as I have said, I wouldn't bring my daughter and husband along because (1) My kid can get really grumpy, would I bring a 3 year old child with small little feet to walk around the New York streets with me? Especially if it was my first time in the city? I don't think so. Would you bring a 3 year old child to the world's tallest roller coaster? Nope. (2) My husband runs a family business that he can just leave whenever he wants to. And he's gonna take in charge of my business while I'm out. He's not a sea farer, btw he has his own US visa if that gives you the satisfaction. Thus, gives you the fact that someone will take care of my daughter, aside from the grandparents, while I'm gone.

Third, this trip is supposedly to be a gift to me from my father. We will cut the expenses in half. Now shoot me in the head because I have supportive parents who wants to help me cross one thing on my bucket list. I wouldn't be asking for this tour if I couldn't afford it.

Fourth, just because the people of the PH has a reputation of marrying a US citizen for a freaking green card doesn't mean every Filipino has the intention to do so. (but thanks to those freaking nutjob for blowing it up for everybody else) I don't need a green card. I just want to freaking see and experience the place I've been dreaming of since I was a kid.

Fifth, somebody told me that there are lots of non visa countries I could visit instead of going to the US. Yeah countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Hongkong and other Asian countries that exactly looks like the Philippines. Japan, Korea and Australia needs visa. If I'm getting a visa and if I'm gonna go all through the hassle, better make it worth it and get the one I've been really dreaming of which is VISIT the US.

If I was from a different country, say I was from the UK, France or Italy, would you give me the same judgemental answers? I guess not.

Beautiful blessings to all of you.

They are not being judgmental nor racist, instead, they were saying what the CO would probably think. They responded base on the information you initially posted. As Boiler said, apply since every thing is just speculation. CO will still decide if you will get one or not.

The odds of a young, single Filipina getting a tourist visa are like 2%. Your chances are slightly greater if you are married, have children, and visited countries outside the Philippines.

My wife tried for a tourist visa before we were married her ties to the Philippines included:

1. University of the Philippines receipt for next semester's classes.

2. Owns a business which grossed around $3000.00 USD (135k PhP) monthly (with ownership and tax docs).

3. Had no relatives in the USA, all her family was in the Philippines

4. She belongs to a branch of Christianity that is not present in the USA, so her strong Church ties would not keep her in the USA long.

5. She owned her own condominium.

On top of her ties she had copies of her tickets, boarding pass, hotel reservations etc.

They asked her 3 questions and denied her request:

"How old are you?" - 30 years old

"Are you married?" - No.

"Have you ever been to any country outside the Philippines?" - No.

"I'm sorry, you do not qualify for a US Tourist visa."

They didn't even bother looking at her petition or evidence. On her rejection letter, a check mark basically stated she applied for the wrong type of visa.

My advice, go to places like Singapore, where it's practically 1st world, a few times, then try for the tourist visa.

Not a solution to a B visa. (If it were, there'd be a long line outside the Singapore embassy, Manilla).

COs look for ties to home country that applicants must come home to.. consolidate those.

Oh I agree, it is not a definite solution, but travel outside the Philippines to developed countries and then returning home looks very good on the application. Not saying it is the deal sealer, but it certainly helps in the eyes of the Manila Embassy.

Beautiful blessings to all of you.

These are the cold, hard facts and some of them might be speaking from their own experience. You came to this forum and website to get an input. In this forum, people try to provide inputs and the bitter realities of going thru K1 petition, green card application, naturalization, etc.

You get easily offended or upset on the fact that nobody can tell you that you have 100% chance of getting a visa. Try going thru other forums, people from Kenya, China, Italy, etc are also asking the same inputs as you are. The situations that they are in may be different from you but they never came back and say that the people who answered their post are very judgmental or racist.

Hi everyone I have a question for my friend who wants to visit my wife and I in Las Vegas. From Makati in the Philippines 3 month stay.

We are all in our early 20's 22-26

I have a pen pal / bestfriend who I have been friends with for 4 years now and he would like to visit us in Las Vegas. Over the past year or so we have been discussing what we would do travel wise while he is staying here and decided on a south-west tour aka Vegas, So-Cal, Utah and Arizona.

I understand the basic requirements for the B-2 Tourist Visa and he does meet the requirements from what I can tell.

Strong Ties to Philippines- Intent to return*

He has a steady job, family in Philippines, and his own appartment that he shares with his sister aka a lease.

He has saved roughly $1,000 usd that would pay for his Plane Tickets plus Fees for the visa application and medical exam.

Understanding the differance in exchange money wise and how long it would take him to save enough to cover food and hotel stay my wife and I have decided to pay for this since we have free stay at Mariots and LaQuitas Via Credit Card rewards and he would be staying at our place in Las Vegas when we are not traveling. And paying for a third person food wise is neglagable.

Obviously assume that he will bring all the required documents.

birth certificate, passport, 2x2 photo, completed application and fees, medical exam.

and we assume he must bring proof of employment / income over the last 6 months aswell as proof of the fact that he is paying rent and has an appartment?

The real question we have is what is needed for this: Which is taken from what is needed for B-2 tourist visa Pleasure – documents concerning purpose and length of the trip and ability to cover the costs of the trip.

Does this just mean the tickets? Or does he need something from me saying that basically once he gets here I'm covering the cost for his stay at my house "which is nothing", hotel stay, and food?

Also do I have to wright a letter-email saying that he is invited to stay and take this trip with us?

Am I missing anything?

Ty in advance <3

What is he going to do for spending money?

I assume you mean Souvenirs? T-shirts and all the stuff. That was included in the Roughly $1,000 USD he has a little saved for those types of things aswell.

Everything else food, hotel stay, and the little stuff like shampoo toothpaste we have all that coverd.
