I know this has been posted and answered before but not specifically for Venezuela. Will they give my fiance an issue buying a one way to the US?

Note: Not with US officials but leaving Venezuela with the Venezuelan officials. In Venezuela they usually require all citizens leaving to have a return ticket. And I don't know how up to date they are with K1 visas. They don't seem to common in Venezuela.

I don't want her to have a problem leaving the country.

Thanks!!

While my wife was born in Colombia, she was a naturalized citizen of Venezuela, Venzuela and Colombia use to be one country. Haven't priced airline tickets recently, but for the longest time, a round trip ticket was actually cheaper than a one way ticket, go figure. And a refundable ticket was practically twice the cost of a non-refundable ticket.

Also when you leave, have to pay an airport tax, on our last trip, we sold US dollars on their black market and paid with Bolivars, at the airport, they use their so-called fair exchange rate, this saved us around 80%.

Another option we had was either me buying the tickets in the US here or she using Bolivars to buy the tickets there. At our time was cheaper for me to buy the tickets here, but this changes daily, Bolivars are worthless any where else expect in Venezula, and now they have severe limits on how many Bolivars you can convert to US dollars at their so-called exchange rate. If there is any Bolivars left, kiss them goodbye.

Also depends on what kind of visa you have, with the standard US visa, have to buy a round trip ticket, not only when leaving but coming here. Our POE will want to see that return ticket before they will issue an I-94. This may even be true for a K1 visa, because if you don't get married within 90 days, that person will have to return.

Just saying you have to consider all factors. Still have a step son stuck in Venezuela, we won't even go down there to visit him, more than likely will be locked up in their filty prisons as American spies. Last visit, we paid for his ticke and met in a neutral ticket. We are also sending him boxes of toilet paper and food.
