My wife and I are planning a trip to the Philippines this coming December for a two week stay

My wife's US passport is good till 2023 but mine expires June 2016, next year.

She seems to think we will have trouble in Manilla with my passport and insist I get a new one.

Just wondering if I need to renew my passport before our trip this coming December??

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide. :idea:

Better to be safe than sorry. I would renew it now so that there are no issues on your trip. Other countries can be sticklers about Passports.

I would suggesting renewing before your trip to avoid any hassles.

To enter the country you have to have:

a passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond your contemplated stay in the Philippines.

You wife is right, you are pushing against the 6 month requirement for valid passport. Best get it renewed.
